Nothing at all. That's the very definition of the Phoenix Suns basketball team.

For once, I agree with Terri, although for me it's not so much the colours as the 'faded' and heavily shadowed faces and places. I would speculate the intent was to make it look like something off old-style film to reinforce the prequel theme, but I've never gone for the retro look. I like my art crisp and well-delineated.

    Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

They may be agressive colors but given the time peroids these take place in and the fact the Cardassians are agressive (and brutal during this peroid) the colors work. I'll just overlook the fact they are the colors of the Suns. (go Pistons!! :bolian:)

Okay, whoever had today in the betting pool wins.

Although, if the intent was to go with something off old-style film, I'd have expected more a sepia-toned look.

Even in the flashback episodes to the days of the Occupation, the colors weren't that bright and, quite frankly, garish.

Interesting to see that The Lost era is mentioned on the covers of this ds9 miniseries I can't wait to find out about the back story of Bajor during the time Cardassia occupied Bajor. And the characters backstories as well. :bolian:

I wouldn't see why not. A few extra words on the cover, and it apparently magically generates extra interest, as seen in this very thread!

So much for not judging books by their covers. :p They are very pretty though...

I'd like to mention at this point that my upcoming Slings and Arrows ebook includes several scenes with Reminiscences of The Lost Era!

That should be good for a few extra sales. :bolian:

So there's a different set of authors for 2 & 3 than there is for book 1? :wtf:

Well, yeah; it's a multi-author miniseries, like all the others published by Pocket over the years.

It's been said that the series can also be seen as a prelude novel followed by a duology.

I like the first two, ambivalent about the third. The style seemed to change to a less detailed, more comic-book-esque look. But overall, very impressive. And I always love when a series can be put side-by-side to make a mural.

    Very nice. :)

I like that the covers evoke the style of earlier relaunch books, particularly Rising Son, Unity, and Mission Gamma. Hopefully, I'll remember to pick these up when they're released.
