Is it wrong that I'm more excited about this than the new Nolan Batman movie that comes out tomorrow?

Ever since I decided to make this purchase last night, I honestly feel the same way. Maybe with all the hype surrounding Dark Knight I might be all Batmanned out, and I go see the movie on Saturday. With these sets, having Mr. Okuda take his time to answer any questions and quail any fears only builds up the hype to Tuesday and it can't come soon enough.

Yup, I'm more excited by this than Dark Knight Rises as well. Sadly, Empire Theaters here on the East Coast of Canada has decided that we should not be excited about this and have chosen not to host it. Twenty Fifth anniversary event and we miss it. That's what happens when you have a monopoly.

I'd like to see what the Armus creature looks like when he moves around in liquid form. It always looked like they drew it on with black ink in the original.

^ Good review! And thanks for the new screencaps! Man, the first season looks gorgeous. I love it!

Also, here are some new screenshot comparisons I just made:

I love the detail on the cryo satellite and the warbird from "The Neutral Zone". Also, I can't believe just how beautiful the effects in "Where No Man Has Gone Before" look in HD!

I like how they color corrected the ship so that it matches the various planets and suns.

And I'd love to know how thos T'kon Empire holograms were made. Looks like they were filmed elements, not early CG?

...and how about the holograms over the table in the conference room? I haven't seen the original for several years, and no longer have the DVD set, but are they the same? They look different, somehow.

Also, are the previews in HD, too? Trekcore doesn't specify.

The holograms are exactly the same as in the DVD set, the team recreated them beautifully.

The previews are in SD, providing a really nice reference point to how the show used to look... it's easy to forget whilst watching the HD just how much of a leap it is from the originals!

I'm just amazed at how good these space shots look now. The Enterprise and other ships finally look like they're blended properly into the space around them-- instead of having that bright, superimposed look they've had for so long.
