Oh my God, it's so different! They raped my childhood!

Clip shows can work if done right. SG-1 did a fair few of them and most of them were ok as they advanced the overall story line.

^Citizen Joe was fantastic. Best actual clip show ever imo, although the best clip show ever is Community's Paradigms of Human Memory. That was just genius. :p

^Persoanly that was one of least favourite clip shows from SG-1. But on the topic of TNG Blu-ray. I'll wait until the season box set comes out before parting with any of my money.

I can understand some wanting to wait for S1 but I can't wait that long, and fortunately I have the $14 to spare to watch it next week.

I here ya. I haven't watched any TNG in years and I haven't ever rewatched it from start to fiinsh. I am definitely ready to start rewatching.

I think all that's been holding me back the last 5 years or so has been the quality. Now that we're getting it on Blu-Ray the time has finally come!

Keep in mind the original may have just appeared darker because of the SD NTSC's inability to transmit color well. I agree, we are all used to the darker blue, but what can ya do. As for the quotation marks, I would have thought they would have the same character set available, I think I do, on my home pc.

No doubt someone working on the project is monitoring fan reaction and will take corrective steps when appropriate for the full season sets. Another good reason for releasing the sampler well ahead of the full season sets.

The shame of it is, with the flashback device this was a great opportunity to delve more into Riker's past, or to explore his history with Troi, or to show us moments between episodes that we hadn't seen before.

Instead he conveniently only flashes back to... the first and second seasons.

They gave up the Riker-Troi thing pretty quickly. In the pilot they’re presented like Decker and Ilia: still very much in love, and never able to say goodbye.

Then after that it’s more like they’re old friends who once dated, but it was no big deal.

Why the change?

Riker actually disses her in EaF. It's Troi that looked like she wanted to get back together then.
