The official promo...explain the credits order to me

Remember that Mulgrew wasn't even their choice for the cameo role...it was Jeri Ryan. I don't remember why Ryan turned it down.

I've heard this story many times. Is it really true? I mean, So9 would have made even less sense than Janeway. They would have had to significantly change the cameo from a Starfleet admiral to something else.

I just cant see where Seven fits into that script at all. Cameo or otherwise.

:wtf:

I seem to remember that, as well.

7 of 9 had the recognizability factor going for her. There are plenty of people who know nothing about "Voyager," but who know exactly who she is. I think that was the logic, nevermind how well she fit into the story.

I can't remember what reason she gave (if any) about why she didn't do it, but I remember thinking that she was probably trying to put some distance between herself and the stigma of Star Trek, in order to get the rest of her career going as soon as possible.

Kirstie Alley and Robin Curtis both had "introducting" credits on TWOK and TSFS.

True, my point was that in recent years is has become uncommon.

Hardy had already been in Black Hawk Down the year before, so he wouldn't have merited an "introducing" credit anyway.
Fair enough as I wasn't aware of that. In that case, I'll settle on "was basically a lead, but considering the movie, couldn't be one for the credits".

Let's face it, though...Mulgrew played a captain in one of the Star Trek series. She's going to get that credit recognition whether she deserves it or not.

Yes. Thank you.

Granted, the role could have been played by anyone; why not give it to an established character (and the lead in another Trek series)?

Jack Ryan "scandal" was way after Nemesis. Jeri Ryan, I believe, was still on Boston Public and couldn't break away from shooting.

I do have to admit, it would make zero sense for Seven to be in the movie in that particular role. I wonder how it was in the initial script. Of course, who knows how far the Seven idea got. Maybe they were spitballing before writing it. I dunno. Just brainstorming here.

When it was a Seven of Nine cameo I heard that she was going to have a scene with Picard probably at the wedding where they talk about their Borg experiences.

Because nothing livens up a wedding more than discussing your shared experiences with the assimilation of worlds and the destruction of fleets of starships. :)

...since it was his first big film, his credit could have been like a "And Introducing" credit (kinda like Persis Khambatta).

IIRC, it was "and Presenting Persis Khambatta" in TMP. Don't remember ever seeing that particular phrasing anywhere since.

Oh, your right. I'm guessing that "presenting" and "introducing" can be used interchangeably, but that is only a guess.

I don't get it.

They list Sulu and Sarek first? Then Pike and Scotty? The rest doesn't make any sense either.

Explain this to me.

Never mind.

I got it.

Alphabetical.

But why Bana and Nimoy at the end? Because they're big names?

Jeeze, did this really need a topic? Could you not engage your brain for a split second and think before posting? Sorry to sound harsh but come on :wtf:

I thought we got some intelligent discussion out of this topic. Certainly better than yet another thread about silly last-minute casting additions or whether the Pakistani captain will be a terrorist.

Did we really need this response? Could you not engage your brain for a split second and realize that you yourself have likely done the same many times (in conversation if not on the board), and maybe have avoided being rude? Come on!

Besides...I'd been thinking about it and only had it come to me after posting.

Thanks for assuming you know how much time had passed before I posted the thread-starter.

It's just that it shouldn't take a genius to connect the dots and realise if the order seems a bit odd......... maybe it's because they're in alphabetical order. Never mind.

The fact that you actually spend time thinking about it makes it even worse actually.

Kpnuts...I really don't know how many times I'm gonna have to say this before you get it: if you don't like a thread, just don't post in it. Just use your 'back' button and forget you ever saw it.

Why is that so difficult?

I quite like posting in threads I don't like, thanks for your input though.
Well, then you'll quite like a warning for trolling I'd imagine. Because you're getting one after having been told here and here to stop posting in threads you don't like if you can't play nice and contribute to the topic at hand in a decent way. Pretty obvious you don't care.

As for everybody else, let's remain on topic. Thanks.

I'm still trying to figure out why Eric Bana gets special credit. Aside from playing the baby faced Hulk and few other things here and there, I didn't really think he was that famous; He's certainly no Robert Downey Jr or Edward Norton.
