The Office: Goodbye Michael *spoilers*

Honestly, although I like Spader a lot, I'm not sure any of the potential candidates for boss are going to be sustainable over more than a few episodes. The best choices are probably the internal candidates, but the show has already squandered what could have been done with Dwight in charge.

AV Club is reporting that it's Catherine Tate's job if she wants it, with Spader as NBC's second choice, but I can't see her character as written working at all. Honestly, I'm watching the show at this point because my roommate watches it at the same time he watches NBC's other two Thursday night comedies, which are much, much funnier than The Office at this point.

This show has a shelf life, and I bet it won't be more than two seasons before it's done (although I'm thinking one season).
I think they should have a revolving door of bosses; some horrible, some great, and then they bring back Michael Scott in the series finale and everyone in the office is happy he's back.
Regardless, I don't care that much about this show anymore so if the new season starts out bad I'll stop watching again. For me the show really ended with Jim and Pam's wedding.

I think the show jumped the shark some time ago and they should have ended it with Michael's departure.

As much as I liked his goodbye (just saw it and the last few shows last night), it was a bit off-character. He had been such a thoughtless jagoff lately but for his last episode, he was almost likable. It really didn't ring true, even if I did like the ep.

I'll probably watch to the bitter end. Didn't like the Ferrell or whatever his name is bit. He just made me roll my eyes.

Well after watching the Season finale I'm still think I'm right about Catherine Tate because when Jo was talking to Jim she mention Tate's character Nellie Bertram was her friend, however as pointed out Spader's Robert California was given more scenes and it's was funny how he freaked Jim out.

Oh and speaking of freaking people out did any watch the end of Parks and Recreation, when Ron Swanson(without eyebrows) was told his first Wife Tammy 1 was in his office his second Wife Tammy 2 ran scared out of her mind?,just how scary can she be to make Tammy 2 that terrorfied?

I am going to go with Jim in charge. Especially because of the last few scenes of the episode, where he is basically already acting as boss, instructing everyone on how to behave and then even calling a meeting. Jim is already boss and just doesn't know it.

I was disappointed in the complete non-resolution to the season ender. Granted, I realize it was a cliff-hanger episode, but the way it ended, it just seemed like they were going to a commercial break. I was shocked when I looked at the time and saw it was the end. There was no sense of immediacy and the episode was anti-climatic.

Personally, I don't think the new manger will be any of the guest stars that were in the episode. As others have pointed out, Jim seems to be the obvious one given the way he was acting. I'm also surprised the writers didn't have him interview for the position. Then, if they did that, he couldn't be on the search committee.

Spader. It should be Spader. His character was funny and creepy.

Plus, he could do one season of The Office and they could spin off his character to a new show with Shatner like the last time.

I thought Spader was great and funny, but I have my doubts about it working for a full year or more. But I'd much rather have him than the woman who was Jo's friend. I'd also be fine with Carrey but I know that's not going to happen.

The finale was terrible... Last week's episode was pretty good, and it gave me hope for a Michael-less show. But now I'm worried again.

Tate's character was by far the worst.

Heck the whole gimmick for next season could be that no one stays boss for too long they have a special guest star each few episodes with the opening credit of them turning what little statue or other item they have on on the desk.

At some point Jim realizes that only a Michael Scott can run the office...and if next season is the last then the series finale will be to bring Scott back to save the Office.
