The Night Crew

This place has been keeping me company. Which is just sad. More so by the fact that it's by choice. :o

HI everybody, I have been gone just a few days and missed oh so much. I cant get through all the posts in one night so can someone give me a summary? Or is it the same ol same ol.

I am going INSANE! I'm working on a homework project, a pretty simple presentation on GPS, it's basic workings and limitations. But for some reason I just can't wrap my head around it. The theory and everything is simple, but I can't put anything together into a presentation! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I honestly can't think of a whole lot that has happened here the last few days.

You need to hang out in the Trek XI forum more often. :p
I'm trying to limit my exposure to that place. Too many crazies.

I am so utterly apathetic about this new movie that even with the crazies that place is boring. Seeing a bunch of harpies argue about something you couldn't give a damn about is not entertaining.

Though, for the record, the new ship looks like ass. :p

Philostine!

Now that should have been my halloween username! It has the virtue of being both a play on the words philistine and Frankenstein. :D

I agree with him. The new ship looks like a bastard of TOS and Phase II.

It looks exactly like what it is. An attempt to base a hardware design off of a goofy impressionistic painting by Ryan Church. I don't know what happened to all of the great scifi concept artists like Ron Cobb, but Church needs to stick to doing environments and mattes.

In fact, I bet you dollars to donuts there weren't any actual concept sketches done on this. More than likely, Church did a couple of his paintings and then it was left to the CG guys to flesh out. And I hate to say this, in lieu of the obvious artistic talent that people like Gep and Vektor continually demonstrate, but most CG artists in the biz, while being genuinely laudable technicians, have very few actual artistic design sensibilities.

Okay, rant over. :o;)

Oh, wow, you're lumping me in with people who have talent? :p I'm honored, but feel compelled to point out that I haven't had an original artistic idea enter my head since I was...well, ever.

Originality is overrated and comes second to a good aesthetic sense. Your Bozeman, while ironically taking the same approach that I am here vilifying, displays that. :)
