The Night Crew

The main problem with my new job is that I never get time for a break, so when I get off at the end of the night, I'm starving!

^There are laws about that, you know.
Have you ever worked as a server/bartender?

There is no such thing as a break, unless you are in between shifts. At best, you get to eat while you're working.

You can't just sit down and take a break if the restaurant is full of customers.

Well, legally, you can. And your employer must let you, else they be sued.
But, yeah, I know what it's like.

So i was going through the sample ballots that we have here. Since i have no idea where mine is, i was checking my brother's g/f's ballot. She's voting yes on CA's prop. 8. I was curious so i checked my brother's ballot. He's also voting yes. :( I guess i'll be the only person voting no on 8. And for those of you not in CA, prop 8 if passed, would make same sex marriage illegal again.

Rest assured, I will be voting no. Making something illegal for other people just because a certain group doesn't like it is B.S. I hope the majority vote agrees, for liberty's sake.

Well I am voting no but my parents are voting yes. I am so ashamed of them but they are kinda biggoted anyway.

I just need to get used to this new place's hours. At TGI Fridays, the kitchen is open the entire night. But at this new bar, the kitchen closes at 11pm, and the bar is still open for another 3 hours. So around 11:30 tonight I had time to take a break...but the kitchen was closed. Sad.

I love bartending. In general, I like "making things," so food, drinks, furniture...if I can build it, I love doing it.

It's also really fun getting to know your regular customers, and it feels really good when people compliment you on the drinks you make.

It's also a really good skills to have because I guarantee there will always be a need for good bartenders in the world.

^That's cool. I'd love to see my sister bartending; she mixes great drinks and can even do all the fancy bottle-twirling and tossing. Plus she's cute as hell, so she'll make an assload in tips.

I love my local bar tender.

I don't know if it's normal, but around here all the restaurant and bar employees tend to go out after their shifts, and so a lot of us from all over town (dozens of restaurants) are pretty familiar with each other. I love knowing the bartender at a bar. It makes the night so much more enjoyable.

and you know, all these religious nuts that come up with this shit are the biggest, flame-ing-est homosexuals around
