Look at the Eaglemoss ship, the Hallmark ornament and the images from the official Season 1 press kit and that's pretty much it! (and yeah I made my nacelle caps red because that was the original design intention so I wanted to continue that a LITTLE longer!)How many different versions of Discovery have we seen now? That one VFX shot we keep seeing is fairly old now and I'm guessing is not the final design.
You are right, the underside of the secondary hull and amber coloring make it look Cardassian to me as well. Also, the rim of the saucer rings remind me of Terok Nor. I don't really see that as a problem, though. The main problem is the ship looks too Cardassian like that.
Right, there's something odd about the ship in that image. The hatch and the registry don't seem to be centered. Plus, the hatch doesn't appear on other images of the ship.Did anyone else notice the hatch (or whatever it is) is completely wrong placed? There are two supposed to be on the left and right side of the inner saucer, in the picture above it is kinda in front but somehow a little in between. The registry looks also oddly placed.
No sexiness allowed.Something about this is just so much sexier than the other images...

Longer than Constitution?Hopefully it will grow on me. It just seems so long.
Longer than Constitution?
It's not the length, but how you use them.I think it's those long nacelles I'm not used to yet.

Named after... perhaps.
Plus John Eaves named the Shenzhou class after another test pilotThat would make sense, him being the first person to fly twice the sound of speed. Something like this is going on with the Discovery and it's special mushroom induced drive system.
