How many different versions of Discovery have we seen now? That one VFX shot we keep seeing is fairly old now and I'm guessing is not the final design.
B Look at the Eaglemoss ship, the Hallmark ornament and the images from the official Season 1 press kit and that's pretty much it! (and yeah I made my nacelle caps red because that was the original design intention so I wanted to continue that a LITTLE longer!)
Did anyone else notice the hatch (or whatever it is) is completely wrong placed? There are two supposed to be on the left and right side of the inner saucer, in the picture above it is kinda in front but somehow a little in between. The registry looks also oddly placed.
You are right, the underside of the secondary hull and amber coloring make it look Cardassian to me as well. Also, the rim of the saucer rings remind me of Terok Nor. I don't really see that as a problem, though. Right, there's something odd about the ship in that image. The hatch and the registry don't seem to be centered. Plus, the hatch doesn't appear on other images of the ship.

If that advert with Michael standing on the saucer was accurate (I honestly don’t think it was) it isn’t much longer then the Connie
That would make sense, him being the first person to fly twice the sound of speed. Something like this is going on with the Discovery and it's special mushroom induced drive system.
There have been some changes to the model since we last saw her, noticeably the saucer edge, it angles more like the TOS Connie Saucer now.
Does look so much better now than in the Comic Con trailer we first saw. I still think the triangle is weird, but the ratio of triangle to saucer has been fixed, the nacelles lengthened, and I like the arrangement of exterior lighting. It's still not a favourite, but I'm much happier about it now.
They also kinda' get better at what angles to shoot her. If you look straight up at the Orthos, she's still extremely ugly from the front/rear, and has a very strange side-view. But the 3/4-shots from above/below? She's looking good in them! That's also an important part of filmmaking: IMO the Excelsior is a pretty mis-proportioned ship once you hold a model in your hands. But you wouldn't know it, because she was just shot so beautifully over the years.
