The "old" klingon costumes were always made by "real" materials. Leather with real metal bits. Even the JJverse klingon costumes - no metal at all - used "real" materials.
Well, they were real in the sense they had physical existence, but other than that, they were as fake as Vreenak's memory stick. The TMP Klingon costumes which became the TNG standard were made of faux leather, vinyl, dyed surgical tubing and liquid plastic painted metallic. In ST6 they even used cut up bits of car upholstery to save money. This new design looks like everything is custom designed and made, which at the very least is a step up in production values, whether or not one likes the outcome.

I really like that space suit. It has has really nice ornate style mixing medieval with biomechanical. I understand that they tried to do similar ornate design with the normal Klingon armours, but they really don't work.

Does anyone else out there hope that the Klingons in DSC will speak more like they did in TOS, with a deep, rich voice, as opposed to the throat-ripping rasp and grunt style from TNG onwards?

To me, it made them more menacing that they were so well-spoken. They had it like that in TUC as well, and it gave them more menace, IMO.

Nope. Not a reboot, not a reimagining, not even a redesign. This is how things always were in the Prime 2250s (outside of the NCC-1701 and Talosian space). I have yet to see any proof that Discovery has remotely broke any bit of canon, despite everyone's insistence that they would or should.
It can be a re-imagining without breaking canon.

It is hard to believe that the space armour and the standard Klingon uniform (especially the grey one in the last picture) are from the same show. How can the former look so amazing while the latter looks like utter shit?

The standard klingon uniform is something that is produced for dozens of people to work on set. It must have been created very early n production, when they clearly weren't that good or experienced with that stuff.

The "armor" is completely CGI on the show. What is shown is a 3d-printed and painted object, that never has to be worn by anybody or be able to move. That was done when they already knew what they were doing, and where they could fiddle with the details until just right before they have to show it.

It is?

I like the way the new klingons look. Honestly i was getting bored of the leather, metal and long hair look. This new look shows diversity in the Klingons as a race. I also like the ancient Egyptian-ish theme they are adding to new Klingons. It makes sense as in previous shots of Qu'noS their building were very pyramid-like.

Well they have, but who cares??

And yes, it's a Reimagining® as per the producers, including the show creator, so there's really no point in arguing that.

Some of the most striking costumes in trek history, and easily the best Klingon uniform
