And they have pointy ears.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Where did you get that?So there we go, L'Rell was listed way back as being one of the contemporary Klingon characters.
Yes, yes, the Klingons were very different 1979 (and then 1984) onwards BUT their unique turtle heads became iconic not just with Trekkies but also casuals/non-fans, so I don't get changing their appearance so much that you can't immediately identify them as Klingons.![]()
Yeah I can't find anything saying that. The only info we have on her character is that she the "Battle Deck Commander of the a Klingon ship"Where did you get that?![]()
Looks good. Looking forward to moreNew photos of new Klingons published in Entertainment Weekly today: http://trekcore.com/blog/2017/07/first-photo-of-star-trek-discovery-mary-chieffo-as-klingon-lrell/
First glimpse of L'Rell, played by Mary Chieffo.
Yeah, but there isn't any context provided. It could be an ancient house in the sense that his family has been around a long time, doesn't necessarily mean T'Kuvma himself is ancient.Well we've got confirmation of ancient Klingons:
"T’Kuvma (Chris Obi), a leader of an ancient Klingon house, goes to extreme measures to unite his people."

I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that we see a sarcophagus. That would seem to imply Klingons from long ago will appear.Yeah, but there isn't any context provided. We still don't have enough info to say for sure either way yet. I like the idea of them being ancient Klingons, but I'm willing to play devil's advocate and say they might not be.I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that we see a sarcophagus. They might not be, but I'm betting the sarcophagus is something important. It could be that it contains someone of great significance to Klingon history and this is somehow important to T'kuvma's plan.We still don't have enough info to say for sure either way yet. I like the look and the idea that these might be "ancient Klingons" is at least unique enough to get me invested. However, I'm in agreement with you that I'm tired of Klingons and generally wish that they'll be done with after one season. They are so overused and irritating.I really don't care about "canon looks" but boy, do they look shit.
I hope we'll at least never see a Klingon again after season 1. I'm so tired of Klingons in general.

"leader of an ancient Klingon house" could just as easily be used to describe Duras, Gowron, Martok, or most other important Klingon characters. It's probably nothing more than that.
Good catch, I totally dropped the ball on that.Well not Martok since he apparently started out being the Klingon version of a poor peasant.
