Is about as old of a trope as science fiction itself. Same way of naming aliens after their planet, rather than having a distinct name.
Most people say citizens of China speak "Chinese", even though there are several Chinese languages. Granted, some of those languages are related, but there are some that are mutually unintelligible from each other.
Better than naming ours after "dirt", to be fair. I think we should rename Earth something like "Humanor"...or something.
In the novels, most humans call it earth, but then aliens seem to refer to it as Terra. Though it depends on the author it seems.
Yep, another word for "dirt". But at least they can derive us as "Terrans" from that, following the trope. Some of the older technical manuals and other books also called it "Sol III". Calling us "Solarians" sounds cool.
Yes. I am a Solarian, too! Just like all you other Solarians. Yes, we are all one, big, happy community of Solarians who watch Star Trek. Yeah, I can get behind this.
good look at some discovery premiere klingons and their traditional and not so traditional wear (or vice versa). also they're gray.
Now no one freak out, but maybe when they meant more traditional looking Klingons they meant the one on the left with the more klingonish garb. *Runs out of room before I get lynched* (all in good jest of course)
