I hate wasting front page news space, especially when I personally contacted webmasters and explained that the story was bogus. So here we go: the Godzilla t-shirt floating around the San Diego Comic-Con is NOT for Legendary's feature film redo that's currently in very early development. We checked in with someone very close to the development process who debunked the story immediately. Maybe it's for a new comic? Watch Bloody Disgusting for OFFICIAL news when it comes in.

But TwitchFilm.net is reporting Legendary is claiming the image is "not necessarily movie related". Okay, what is it then? Are they just giving random t-shirts with Godzilla on them away for fun?
Perhaps Legendary is hedging their bets and not laying claim to the design in case the fans aren't digging it. I, for one, would have to believe that hardcore fans of the giant lizard would absolutely get behind this, as it's so close to what they know and love. How a modern interpretation of said design would play on the big screen remains to be seen if indeed this is what the big boy will look like.
