The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

Wow, that does look good. Nice work all around!
OK, I have been busy working on my Klingon ship. I really liked those concept drawing that got posted, so I incorporated some of those ideas into my Warp Nacelles. I had been a little stuck, before. :)

I think this is coming along very well. :)

Going to start on the Bridge/Head area now...

Forgot one. :)

Honestly, I think it is a really good ship you are building there MadMan...:bolian:

Except that neck.I can't say it looks good. Too thin.

Oooh. Nice, Madman. Thicken up the neck just a bit and I think you've nailed it. Subconsciously or purposeful, you seem to have also combined design elements from the Vor'Cha, and I think it works.

Thanks. :)

With two votes for a thicker neck, I think i will tweak it some.

:)

Man those are some beefy nacelles. They look very much like the secondary hull of RAF-MX's NCC-23 Intrepid. I think in his design those holes are torpedo launchers & I'm wondering if yours are similar, but in the form of rapid-fire disruptors instead.

I hadn't thought of them being disruptors, but that works.

I did take into account the Vorcha, actually. I liked the way the Nacelles attached, instead of how they turn the opposite way on the original ship.

OK...

I Bulked up the neck, added more detail, and worked on the Bridge area...

I might be able to finish the modeling on this guy tonight. :)

Nice. So are the engines flatter in cross section than they appear, or more rounded? The one area I'm not sure about is the bridge area, but since you're working on that, I might like it better the next round. For the record, I kinda prefer the original shape of the bridge module with one 'dome' and one 'node.'

The are pretty flat. Here's a front Ortho that should so them a little better...

About the bridge...

I was going to clutter up that area with a few more of those "silo" shaped things. So far, I named the larger one the sensor, and the smaller one the subspace radio. I am going to add some smaller ones, that can be emergency life support, or something. :)

Ooh, works for me then.
Tweaked a little bit...

:)

I always pictured Klingon ships like a car that my friend used to have, with all kinds of "cool stuff" stuck to it and in it that really shouldn't be there, but is anyway. :)

-=MadMan=-

Nice. ;)

Yeah, I can see the Klingons as the sort that would add plant-ons to a ship to increase lifetime and capability and such.

OK, I think the modeling is done.

It's a long weekend, so maybe I'll get to the textures before I have to go back to work. :)

I think it turned out ok.

Any ideas about a color scheme? I don't know if I want it all painted up like crazy, like the Kronos One, or just muted greenish dirty grey.

-=MadMan=-

Maybe someplace in between? I always liked Kronos One's paint job but it was a tad much.

So where's my Romulan bird of prey? ;)

She'd definitely different, which is nice. Not entirely my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong, I do like it, but I just wouldn't command it :p

Personally my design cues would be more like the ENT era ships, seeing as how it's a new TOS, ENT would be what would have been the precursors to their designs.

As for a color scheme, a greenish brown would be nice, something different than the Romulans.
Maybe the "tan" or TN 102 or Beta Brown 523 on this wheel

I'm loving it, MadMan! But am I sniffing a bit of "discombobulator" in the greebles? ;)

Greenish brown is a color we don't see very often, so I like that. :)

Possibly bright green glowing dots hidden within those little indentures forward of the nacelles would add a nice effect, also in the rear exhaust ports. Or possibly cyan to match the colour of the glowy parts seen in (if I'm not mistaken) ST 6

If you are to add any window textures in small areas, I would suggest a sharp edged triangular shape...seems more klingon. I would also love a link to your finished models, and if you can kindly inform the most likely blind, what program do you use?
