The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

Working on something else, while at work...

I like the direction it's going. :) I tried to meld a runabout, the new shuttles, the old shuttle, and the TOS Movie shuttle. I'll work on texturing it up at the same time as Constitution up there.

Well that is just cool as hell :)
Perhaps the impulse's are on top, and the warps are the bigger nacelles on bottom. Very cool design on those bottom "engines" BTW.

Have you scanned your sketchbook yet? :)

Thanks everybody. :)

I've been flying off the seat of my pants with this one. Haven't gotten to the sketchbook... I'm too embarrassed. :)

I like that someone noticed it looked like the Vulcan shuttle from the behind view... I had thought to make the warp nacelles detachable, like that one, but decided not to. I think it will use the engines themselves as a landing pad.

Also, I did intend that the impulse engines be on top, and the warp engines below. :)

I think the modeling on this is done, since it's just going to be in the background. I'll texture it as soon as Constitution is done.

Here's progress on that... If I could have a good couple of hours to devote at one block to this, I could get it done. :)

I'm thinking a "Holy Crap, I got really close!" is in order, like in your Kelvin thread. :) Seriously dude. You win the Oscar. :)

Some reference of the new model/toy might help out a bit.

WOW! I can't believe I missed this. :) It looks like some model tweaking is in order, here. :)

I am going to buy 2 of these things... as soon as possible. :)

Apparently I am home sick today, so I will be working on this model, awaiting my DR appointment... I guess I got that couple of hours I wanted.

It appears that there are also windows for the Rec Room in the saucer. Looks to be in the same location, and similar size as to the TMP Enterprise.

Great work. I think your nacelles could go up a bit in size again...

I'm really tempted to get that model/toy, since they seem to have done a good job on it.

My reaction: "Ooooh shiney!"

I think I agree about the engines... I'll tweak that next, since I am just doing textures, now.

More Updates... got quite a bit done...

I'm not sure about the Nacelle Caps... I didn't really want to build all the internal stuff like last time. I'm sure I will change them 10 or 11 times. :)

On the Playmates model the edge of the saucer looks exactly like TMP 1701 (which is to say it doesn't appear to be as rounded as your model, or even the one in the trailer), it even has the bank of two sets of four square windows on the aft starboard side of the saucer.

Also, I think that in the trailer, as on the Playmates model, the signage is completely black, including the trim--not a red trim, as in your model.

But stellar and fast work as always!

You know, the settings you have on the "base material" ? almost looks like the plastic from the toy pic. (which I thought was cool).
The new textures are great. Love the glowing parts.

One thing about the movie ship, with the transparent caps, you really can't see much of the spinning blade thing. I like how you've given them the same glow effect.

Looks great.
