The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

Wonderful work. We'll all know in advance what she'll look like when we see the movie, and won't be shocked. :)
I know I'm sounding like a really old guy, but wow, this internet thing :) is really incredible....where something like this can be fleshed out long before the movie premiers...I remember when TNG debuted...what would the forums have sounded like back then? (if they had existed, ofcourse).

Great work, Madman, can't wait to see the new textures and details.
I know, it's really amazing. I also found it amazing that I have equipment and skill to do this kind of thing... a few years ago, I had neither. :) (That didn't sound right. What I meant, is it's amazing that I can sit here, at home, with free software, and do what 3d graphics companies years ago could only do with huge amounts of resources and time :) )

OK, I worked on the Neck...

I don't think it is a wide as the real thing, but It's not too far off, I don't think.

The "neck" is so blended into the secondary hull, it's hard to pin down.
(seems thicker or thinner depending on the view). Your front view and the front screen caps appear to match.

Do you have any updates on the other projects? (The starbase in particular).

Madman, you're doing great work here and it's easy to see that this project has really helped you refine your modeling abilities. Your model here is slowly warming my heart to this new Enterprise, which is good. She's a lady you never want to fall out of love with. :)

Looks good Madman, but the shape of the nacelles front "intake vent" or whatever it is, looks too rounded, and the nacelles front overall seems small. Other than that looks good. Follow the shape of judexaiver's blueprints closely, and you'll have a good match on the nacelles.

No, Unfortunately. :) I need to build a refined version of that starbase, and I never got a good start on my shuttle. :) Christmas Vacation just wasn't long enough.

I don't know, from a side view, the engines match as close as I can get them. part of what's wrong there is Blender's default Camera, I don't know how to adjust it effectively, yet.

Here's what looks like from the same angle, if I back off a ways...

and here it is if I leave it in the same spot, and set it to ortho...

That last image looks really odd.

:)

Started Texturing...

How does everyone like the Constitution idea? I thought that would be an easy way to explain away the differences between the Enterprise, and my model. :)

Yes! I tried something similar a long while back, "Conjecture" NX-1700 I think. Gets everyone off your back! :) (I'm kidding).

Anyway, awsome work.

This shot looks spectacular. If the new E looks close to what you've conjectured, I'm going to be very happy with it.

Very nice work, sir. :techman:

Thanks! I hope to get back to texturing tonight... I ended up laying vinyl in the kitchen last night....

Working on something else, while at work...

I like the direction it's going. :) I tried to meld a runabout, the new shuttles, the old shuttle, and the TOS Movie shuttle. I'll work on texturing it up at the same time as Constitution up there.

-=MadMan=-

Nah, they look like the whatever-they-are's on top the new shuttles.

That's weird the way the aft view looks like the Vulcan shuttle.
