See, what they've done, in effect, is to take the TMP bridge module, and blow it up to twice it's original size.
Where are you getting "twice its original size" from? I know it's a little bigger, but not by that much.

Thanks. So, you want me to build the TMP enterprise with round nacelles.I really hope you'll also make a less cringeworthy version of this "ship" one with a better sized saucer with its indent, straight nacelle pylons, less greeble/clutter on the neck, nacelles with the TOS ship's endcaps, a more TOS-like bussard collector, a non 70's disco deflector, better secundairy hull and so on.
As for the rest, despite the subject of the artwork being a [bleep, bleep, insult, bleep, etc] good artwork, your skills are improving.![]()
Got you.
So no one has any more suggestions for the bridge? I'm thinking about just going with a little more rounded version of Enterprise A's shape. That will probably gel with the rest of the aesthetics we can see here...

"Twice" is an approximation based upon how it looked in the first trailer.See, what they've done, in effect, is to take the TMP bridge module, and blow it up to twice it's original size.

Cool. I'll keep that in mind...I don't know if it's going to be that much larger, though."Twice" is an approximation based upon how it looked in the first trailer.See, what they've done, in effect, is to take the TMP bridge module, and blow it up to twice it's original size.

I'm in the midst of tearing down my office right now and my scanner is boxed up already... and I don't have enough spare time to go creating a direct-comparison. (And this is on my laptop where I don't have all my picture-files stored, too). Before the end of the month, I'll be moved to Austin TX to start my new job running a startup's mechanical engineering team, in case anyone's interested... a great opportunity to build an organization as I think it ought to be, instead of inheriting someone else's mistakes from decades in the past!) SO... I can't give an image to support this, though perhaps someone else can.
But look at the TMP Enterprise, and compare the A-deck ("bridge") to the B-C-deck structure. The B-C deck superstructure is about twice as tall as the bridge module... as you'd expect.
On the "NewTrek" version, as seen in the first trailer, these proportions are reversed. The "superstructure" element is about half as high as the "bridge module" part. And the bridge module part keeps the same proportions as the TMP one.
Additionally, some of the visual analysis some other folks here did on the first trailer imagery established (with some room for debate, of course!) that the bridge dome itself was two decks high rather than one.
All of that makes it pretty clear that the new dome is twice the size of the TMP one, and includes the bridge plus some other stuff (and the former B-C-deck superstructure has been shaved down to a single deck).
Could I be off by some small measure? Sure... but unless the 1st-trailer ship really is far off from the final-film version (which I'd hoped would prove to be the case but apparently isn't), I'm pretty confident that I'm right, to within +/- 5% or so.
The only think I don't know about is the "fairing" that everyone keeps putting on there to connect the bridge to the impulse engine area... It seems kind of weird. But, that's just me.Thanks. Man some people live to hate Abram's enterprise...
I'm just sayin'...
Anyway,
From what I think I'm seeing in the pics, that lowest hump the bridge sits on seems to be fairly large. It looks like it might be part of a larger fairing that flows into the impulse "deck". I think the bridge itself is like you have it, probably a more rounded TMP bridge, with those slanted back side parts.
The only real difference from TMP are those cusp things toward the front.
Looks good.
I think the first trailer gives a good front view.
Wouldn't it be cool, to have 3 huge windows on the bridge? That would give it a scope we've never seen before.Yeah, that fairing does look weird in (estimated) side views. The only reason I followed that was some fuzzy shapes in that rear warp view.
There seems to be something going on, but it's too hard to tell.
In all likelyhood it's not really there. I like the designs you're going with.
IMO, the bigger bridge module stems from that humped up "C" deck (?), with the three slits. (not calling them window slits![]()
Well, this is a thought I've brought up before (some other thread)...some of the bridge shots make it look very big; additional intermediate rows of consoles out towards the sides (where that 'Pickard" looking guy is sittingWouldn't it be cool, to have 3 huge windows on the bridge? Also, it seems plausible that they could be suggesting that the viewer screen is also a window...that shot with Quinto, with the front of the hull in the background...putting aside all "defensive" treknology/cannon arguments, I think it's entirely possible that we have a huge, 3 window bridge.
Or not.
(Another thing...to me the "veiwscreen/window" sure seemed to match up in proportion to those hooded window slits on the exterior.
The one question I have (going in that direction)...if the bridge is that low...what is in all that dome stuff above? (multi-level giant bridge room perhaps?)
Works for me... at least 'til we actually have some better images of the.. ahem... "real" thing... to pick apart! Here are some updates... I think I will stick with this. Why not.

Looking good. I think this is going to be a hard ship for anyone to model.Very nice, MadMan. Here is what I am with mine...
Some detail work on the saucer bottom sensor dome, and overall roughing in of shapes. This is a difficult ship to model for me.

I've seen Gabe's Version one quite a bit, is version 2 the one that's done up more like a traditional starfleet ship? I don't think I've seen but one image of it, so sure, please post some pics.Reminds me a lot of Gabe Koerner's version 1. Should I post pictures? then again, I like version 2. Gabe's that is.

Nice. Is there one with textures on it?http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr350/KirkTrekModeler/_1-1.jpg
I can't post pics yet, can someone show this picture?
