The New Artist's Thread (Warning: Large Image Size)

Re: The New Artist's Thread

Here's some Discworld fanart and I love doing the villains.

Where is everyone?! Hello? HELLLO?! :vulcan:

Here's another Discworld related sketch, guess where this is:

Re: The New Artist's Thread

^^ That's nice. The building has nice detail and an organic feel to it. I also like how the background elements are grayed out to add dimensionality.

I also like your other stuff, especially the alien creature and the Lovecraftian monster. And you do very well at bringing individuality to faces.

Re: The New Artist's Thread

Think, I really like these. Watercolor?

It is blue acrylic and a few other chems in an old jar of peanut butter(peanut butter gone) the other Black is a mix of some essential oils for infusing and sumi ink plus some ink stick scrapings.

here are some from the tablet and stylist I have been using in gimp with pressure sensitivity set to max.

I just installed the tablet though it sat here till I could get it situated under my right hand rather then my left.

More Discworld related fanart; guess who this is...
Vimes?

Well, the Shattered Corpse Halloween Project didn't really come together this year. Too many people with RL stuff going on. Next year will be better. So I just went and posted my comic in my deviantArt gallery.

I got to do my first ever guest comic, it won't be published til next week but here's a sneak panel:
So do we get a link? ;)

Correct and I made him a bit more friendly looking (though there's still a sturdy toughness to him, I'm starting to get good at drawing original characters).

I like Paul Kidby's art and he replaced the late Josh Kirby, but an element of Kidby's artwork that I mildly dislike is that he makes his Ankh-Morpork characters a little too modern looking (they look more Victorian English rather than Stewart/Cromwell English, if you get me).

Re: The New Artist's Thread

I haven't attempted to "draw realistically" in ages... like ages, ages.

Today I decided to give Trip Tucker a try. It definitely wasn't a win, but I had a lot of fun anyway. (Seriously, there was like this weird high I got from working on it!)

If you cover his eyes and the top of his head, he does look like Trip. :guffaw:

Re: The New Artist's Thread

^^ Yeah, the mouth is perfect. It doesn't look entirely like Trip, but it's a very nice sketch.

Those are nice sketches, too, Ted. The knuckles in the second one could use a little work, but the face in the third one is great.

Re: The New Artist's Thread

Star, your Trip sketch looks better than your earlier practice sketches.

Here's a sketch of my front room's lampshade:

Re: The New Artist's Thread

Sorry, think, the video doesn't seem to work. :(

But I dig the water colour images.

Anyway this a less than successful sketch of a cyborg warrior:

People mocked it in another forum and so I did a better drawn spoof of it:

And I've carried on with my paintings:
