The needs of the many....

Aside from Spock's heroic sacrafice as the end of KHAN, what is another "TREK REGULAR" highlight? Meaning, when was the best time that a character, a regular character, did a very heroic act that may have gotten them killed, but they did it for better of everyone else...

Kirk and Doomsday Machine?

Well, he wouldn't have got killed, but Jake Sisko in The Visitor springs to mind, devoting his life to getting his father back.
 
Both McCoy and Spock were prepared to give their lives to gain the information to ensure the Enterprise survived in The Immunity Syndrome, although that swiftly turned into an intellectual machismo competition between them...

which was the best part of the episode. I just watched it recently, and for someone reason, they all seemed bored in that episode. The performances were a bit tattered...

How oldODO preventing the Defiant from crashing on that time world so that youngerODO could get it on with Kira in the future...he did it for LOVE!!!

I know all but about 6 people in the Western Hemishere hate it, but when Data blows up the Scimitar with himself aboard in Nemesis.
