Spoilers The NCC-82893 Thread

I brought it up because without the thread title someone was making a list of all the new Season 2 ships for discussion.
And without the proper thread title to clarify, it was inviting derail for an already existing thread.
So to clarify the focus of this thread, I pointed out it was still missing its title which had been removed.
Again it was about the thread and the New Stargazer (don't make it about me, and no need to start cursing)

So, just to summarize the Season 2 ships and vehicles we know about already:
La Sirena, a Fenris Ranger ship.
USS Stargazer NCC-82893, a four-nacelled ship (Stargazer class?)
Nova class and Steamrunner class (evil timeline)
Dreadnought USS Enterprise-D (evil painting) - need Eaglemoss model of this!
21st century Earth four-wheeled ground transportation, including a local-law-enforcement variant

Golden version of Picard's Stargazer - but will it only be the one, or will there have been other Stargazers we don't know about?

This is the new Stargazer, not Picard's.

Cue Trek Yards Is that a Window?!

And Doug Drexler trying to deny it for some reason.

Maybe it was given a window at some point between the last time he saw the design and the final CG model. Though he's said he's seen the first episode already, so

I have no horse in that race,
Never had a problem with the window/view screen hybrid,
It's not a step backward as some imply, I see it as a step forward being able to be both.
See with your own eyes, which has purpose, and magnify, measure, calculate and display through tech, which are absolutely necessary.
Yet if powered down, you can still see out.
As far as a supposed vulnerable spot, I imagine like everything else on the surface it's reinforced, some kind of translucent equivalent of the rest of the hull, and is no more or less vulnerable, and what shields are for.

I like that he's convinced that the fact that Captain Rios is on duty smoking a cigar on a Federation ship, is another reason why the whole self-destruct scenario can't be "real".
Paris and Nog made it quite clear that people generally don't smoke in the 24th century. Perhaps he gives it up in S2...

We know some captains have their quirks, never forget that riding crop, or Sulu's Tea.

I think it's likely it wont be lit, or it is more a prop than actual cigar, now he's back in Starfleet.
