I thought the purpose of the bridge window was made blatantly obvious in the latest episode. It's so Rios can open it and let the cigar smoke out.
Interestingly, it didn't act like a window in the episode. You couldn't see the saucer outside the window like you can on the Discovery and Enterprise (Kelvin and DSC), and the whole thing flickered when there was interference from the anomaly, not just the 'HUD'.

And sadly her "end" ^at least in what starts as the prime timeline.
Although I doubt it's the last we see of the Stargazer (or rather this version) What they go back and "fix" will likley determine if and how (what version/capacity ) returns.
As ironically going forward for the Q "second chance" narrative, our crew is switching back to La Sirena.

That likely just means it was showing an enlarged/zoomed/whatever view rather than just being a window.
That or the CG people just forgot to add the saucer, which is something I noticed in Disco recently.
Yes. Top one is the 23rd century Radiant Class, middle one is the current stargazer, and the bottom one of course is the Constellation class.

Have we seen this species before? She reminds me of one of the rouge simulants from Red Dwarf a little.
And yeah, I'm wondering if the dedication plaque in the ready room would be a reproduction of the one from Picard's Stargazer.

Airiam: deceased. formerly married to someone named Stephen. Due to accident that killed her husband, received cybernetic modifications that caused issues with handling, storing and removing memories. Served aboard Discovery during the Klingon-Federation War. Enjoyed playing kadis-kot. Friends with Rhys.

Nilsson: worked on gravity simulator project in the hangar bay before later transferring to the bridge after the death of Airiam. (since the character came into season 2, and season 4 has involved smaller numbers of people on set, often, due to COVID concerns, I think Nilsson gets a pass).
Joann Owosekun: raised in a Luddite community with no religious beliefs. Grew up near the Ogbunike caves off the coast of Africa. Learned to hold her breath for long periods of time from diving for abalones. Accomplished hand-to-hand fighter. Friends with Linus and Detmer. Was part of Lorca's faction in the mirror universe.
Gen Rhys: Was rescued by Starfleet at a young age when his town was destroyed by a hurricane. Attempted romantic gesture to Tilly but was rebuffed during the Klingon-Federation War because Tilly was going through a "musician phase." Was friends with Airiam.
I will leave out Tilly, Saru, Nhan, Burnham and Landry, all of whom spent time on the bridge)
I'm as critical of Discovery as anyone, where it's due, but if you're going to be wildly unfair, I'm going to mention it. So tell me, how much do you know about the bridge crew of Stargazer? Or the unnamed seat warmers on NCC-1701 for that matter. Or Uhura's first name.. or ..
