The name Trip

Where I hail from, naming a boy after his father is done because of tradition and to honor family, not because of a lack of imagination. Daughters are even named after their mothers.

In the culture I was raised in it's sort of similar... though it's the kids getting named after the grandparents.

The name Trip as a nickname is fine. It never felt odd or out of place to me. It just seemed to work, IMHO.

Hey, boushh darlin! Nice to see you again! :D Love the av, too.

I'm glad TPTB tossed out "Spike" and renamed the guy Trip. Ever since Buffy the Vampire Slayer, there will be only one Spike for me... :adore:

I very much agree with you there. :) That would have been really tough to get used to...

The problem with Charles tucker, is that.... Chuck Tucker, Chucker Tucker, Chucker.

I don't think I could take a character called Chucker seriously.
