1. Suru
2. Stamets - I hope we get a little less pining for Culber this season. I want the first season Stamets back.
3. Pike - I'm looking forward to SNW because of Mount
Honorable Mentions:
Lorca - Yeah the character assassination was dumb, but I wonder looking back and having seen season 1 as a binge recently, if he wasn't right about everything
Tilly - She can be a little annoying, but she's a fun character and I appreciated "Runaway (Also rewatched recently)" more because of her.
Burnham is a fantastic character, complex and inherently conflicted, with a solid arc, and I think SMG is a great actress even if prone to over-emoting. I love Stamets and don’t think he’s featured nearly enough. Tilly is enormous fun and also wonderfully empathetic and relatable. My favourite though is probably Saru, who’s up there with Spock, Data and Odo as one of Trek’s great ‘alien outsider’ characters, yet among the most human of all.
I like Tilly because she reminds me of myself, an officer who isn't quite squared away. And I like Lorca because he's played by Lucius Malfoy. Not sure about #3 right now.
I'll consider only the first 2 seasons for now, although I gotta say I'm very impressed by Ayala, particularly after seeing him in the Ready Room. Good acting, Royal Shakespeare Company actor, eloquent, intelligent, bonuses: that accent plus he's a friend/ colleague of SPS ... So he and his feline friend are certainly on the shortlist for the future.
1. Saru
2. Reno
3. Culber
4. Prime Giorgiou (R.I.P.)
5. Stamets
My top 3 of original DSC characters:
1. Ash Tyler (love his growth in s2)
2. Gabriel Lorca (before the mirror twist)
3. Paul Stamets
Counting characters from TOS:
1. Christopher Pike
2. Spock
3. Number One
I'd be easier with Burnham, if she had not so much screen time and knew basic rules of logic. The only episode in which she behaved like a scientist and a good officer was "New Eden."
Stamets and Jett Reno and Saru are current favorites of mine. Of current non regulars, I also like Captain Pike, Number One and Spock. I liked Captain Lorca and was irritated when they made him evil.
I’ve always found Michael Burnham a rather tedious character and Tilly has become annoying.
