The Most Horrible Over the Top Hate Video Ever

^ My understanding is the dvds were direct ports from the laserdisc, so while they may not lose anything in the transfer, they couldn't by definition have been better - and, due to the aspect ratio thing, are harder to watch.

If I remember correctly, the pre-bastardized  trilogy on DVD isn't anamorphic, right? Which makes the laserdiscs (I have 'em too) worth gold now. :techman:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the DVD's, even though letterboxed, have better resolution than LD's?
In my household, anamorphic is preferable.

Why do you think Lucas deprived us purists of the anamorphic OT? Because it would blow all other versions outta the water, and we would FINALLY stop buying them. ;)

For the record, I do believe that one day, the original, unaltered, but remastered OT blu-rays will see the light of day.
Only when someone pries the rights out of Lucas' cold dead hands, methinks.

I have the originals on video, quite pristine so I assume they still work. Actually I have two copies of them on video as well as the special editions on video as well as everything on dvd as well as a huge collection of 70's SW action figures (no not vinyl caped jawa) as well as.. loving the PT. I'm just a simple fan trying to make my way in the universe. How could anyone not like Jango Fett, sigh.
