The Most Horrible Over the Top Hate Video Ever

I just turn the TV off if I don't like something.
That's the general rule, I think... Unless you're Gaith and you actually run a blog about shit you hate (or Plinkett with his countless hours of butthurt)...
The Star Wars Prequel Rejection Society isn't about hating the PT; it's about loving the OT by excluding the bad ones from one's own fan canon. ;)

Of course it is about hating the PT. If it was about how much you love the OT you would blog about the OT's awesomeness, not about the PT's horridness. Saying "the PT is horrid" does not actually make the OT more awesome.

^ Not everyone. I hate the new movie and so I've only seen it once. :p

I wish I could convert you.

Good luck with that. ;)

What's this PT you all speak of?

Sigh. :)

1) If you read the blog, I think you'll find that full-on PT-bashing is pretty rare. The Society generally takes it as a given that the PT sucks and the OT rules.

2) While PT-rejection may not make the OT more awesome, it does make Star Wars the franchise more awesome by eliminating that which drives its artistic batting average way down.

3) The fact that the Society and its blog even exists implicitly praises the awesomeness of the OT. I could start a Bayformers Movies Rejection Society blog, but I wouldn't, because the Transformers franchise as a whole is inherently lame and worthless.

I know of no such thing, there's only the Star Wars trilogy.
Sounds like we got ourselves a Society member/ally here! :bolian:

The actual problem with the Prequel Trilogy is that it physically altered the Original Trilogy. If older, wiser, redeemed Anakin Skywalker gets replaced by Fucking Brat, I can't just ignore it.

All I can say is that I'm so thankful I have the original OT, and by that I mean the pre-bastardized, pre-Special Edition version (you know, the ones actually released in theaters in the 70s and 80s), on DVD. Though I did have to transfer them from Laserdisc onto DVD in order to have them.

Or you could have gotten these:

 Why did this thread turn into a discussion about Star Wars?

And since this thread has gone hopelessly off-topic, I will agree with this assessment. ;)

If I remember correctly, the pre-bastardized  trilogy on DVD isn't anamorphic, right? Which makes the laserdiscs (I have 'em too) worth gold now. :techman:

Okay, I laughed out loud at some point during that video. I guess I'm officially a bad person now.

They have bonus discs with the original OT on them, but as has already been mentioned, they aren't anamorphic versions. Though these are the only DVDs I own - I refuse to pay for only SE content.

Because that was more fun than talking about some ENT-hating asshole? :alienblush:

Me too. Though I don't hate the prequels, when people say "Star Wars", the first thing that comes to mind is Luke, Han, Leia, Vader and Obi-Wan. And Yoda. Oh, and also Chewie, Lando, and even Boba Fett and Jabba. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the DVD's, even though letterboxed, have better resolution than LD's?
