Game The Most Disliked Recycled Title Episode

I don't remember Trip being on a horse in Terra Nova?
- Oh, drat! Wrong episode - I was thinking of "North Star".
Hmmm... After a quick visit to Memory Alpha, I recall thinking the actual "Terra Nova" was okay if a bit dull when I last watched it, so I'm sticking with my original save, as "Profit and Lace" is certainly not dull (and I'd rather watch it right now than TN).

Wow, I'm a bit surprised. Never thought Terra Nova would win. I mean, I think it's a bad episode for sure, but not catastrophically bad. On the other hand it has very little to recommend it, not even some humorous scene, and all that is required to win here is to be the 'least liked'. I have no like for it, either.

A very bad bottom three. Terra Nova is just so boring and forgettable, so I'm glad it won.

The trouble with ENT's first couple of seasons had lots of average or mediocre outings, which totally outweighed the number of good ones. Those kinds of episodes can be forgettable, which can be worse than a bad, but memorable episode. Or in my twisted mind, at least.

'Grats to the "winner"

I've never seen Terra Nova but it's hard to imagine there's anything out there worse than Profit and Lace :ack: Maybe it's just failure of imagination of my part.

I don't think it's worse than Profit and Lace. At least, in my eyes it's not even remotely as offsensive. It's just that it has very little to recommend it, either; just not much to actually like. For example, the pitched argument between Quark and Moogie in Profit and Lace or the 'Drink sluggo-cola jingle 'moments are somewhat humorous (in my eyes). No such humor in Terra Nova.

My chief issue with "Profit and Lace" is how it treats women's suffrage: "Bang the right guy and women go from chattel to full equals". It doesn't come that easily. It would have been a worthy three-peater, but I guess two golds and a silver is still pretty impressive in an appalling sort of way.

Say what you want about "Angel One" and "Cogenitor", at least they understand that gender equality takes time and often comes at a cost.

Well, glad to see another win for Enterprise! So weird they've only had two before this.

"Profit & Lace" is definitely the more offensive episode. It has so many offensive aspects I couldn't even tell you which is the worst. The transphobia? The sexism & misogyny? The rape comedy? The endorsement of sexual coercion in the workplace? It's all just outrageous.

That being said, on a technical level it is definitely better crafted than "Terra Nova." "P&L" is better produced, better acted, and has a better structure (which perhaps makes it even more offensive?).

But, a suitably grim final two!

The 2020 winner of this game was Short Treks: "Children Of Mars."

Next up: "The Most Disliked Majel Barrett Appearance" I'm going to try to do it within the next hour, if nothing pops up to distract me...

Would that include all the time the computer speaks?

:guffaw:

It honestly couldn't, but it's a lovely thought. :D It's a cool poll too, giving more than "the big three" some newfound visibility and IMHO, Majel was underrated and Gene did have to go through a lot to keep her in the show...
