The MOST Disliked Episode of VOYAGER - Season Seven...

I like Repentance. Another of those rare episodes that touches on something socially relevant, the implications on the justice system if sociopathy is a curable neurological condition. Also touches on Seven's guilt for all the crimes she committed when she wasn't in control.

UNIMATRIX ZERO PART II
REPRESSION
NIGHTINGALE
PROPHECY
FRIENDSHIP ONE
NATURAL LAW
RENAISSANCE MAN

I'll save the concluding chapter of Unimatrix Zero. I wasn't a huge fan of this story, but I randomly picked up one of Kirsten Beyer's Voyager novels last summer and she had done some interesting tie-in to that two parter. For that, I'll put it ahead of the remaining episodes.

REPRESSION
NIGHTINGALE
PROPHECY
FRIENDSHIP ONE
NATURAL LAW
RENAISSANCE MAN

I guess I had some fun with "Prophecy." By this point I'd long ago given up on them not constantly encountering other things/people/ships from the Alpha Quadrant, and could just go in on that "whee, Klingons!" level they wanted you to operate on. So viewed from that angle, its OK!

REPRESSION
NIGHTINGALE
FRIENDSHIP ONE
NATURAL LAW
RENAISSANCE MAN

My next save, and likely my final one for this season, is going to be "NIGHTINGALE". Kim got to have a real taste of command, and got a bit more than he bargained for. He got some growth out of it, which was needed. The side story of Icheb was rather funny in moments. It was nice seeing the ship landed... that's always a treat.

REPRESSION
FRIENDSHIP ONE
NATURAL LAW
RENAISSANCE MAN

OK, I think it's been 6 hours, so I am saving Friendship One, mainly because it featured the death of Joseph Carey (who probably should have been given more screen time in previous eps to make his death count for something more than it did).

REPRESSION
NATURAL LAW
RENAISSANCE MAN

I am saving RENAISSANCE MAN, because of Picardo/the doctor. He's making gold out of the material he's given in that episode. I especially liked his verbal will near the end. It was priceless!

REPRESSION
NATURAL LAW

And I'll note that I really wanted to save Natural Law, but that was such a wasted opportunity for C7 that ... I just couldn't. :(

Agreed. This would have made the Chakotay/Seven relationship more palatable... instead, it was a left field, last minute tack-on. Hated it.

I'll save Natural Law, meaning that Repression finishes last.

Natural Law isn't a great episode, but Repression just relies on too many ridiculous contrivances for its own good.

These Voyager games have had some unexpected winners! It is true that "Repression" is totally stupid, but it's one of the stupid ones I have an affinity for. It was almost my last save before I went for "Prophecy" instead.

Should be interesting to see what wins the final...

Do you remember which novel it was?

Acts of Contrition. I picked that one up purely because it was the earliest one on the shelf of my local book store - the last Voyager novel I had read before that was The Farther Shore by Christie Golden. The Unimatrix Zero elements of Acts of Contrition has to do with one element of Seven's storyline in the novel, not the main thrust of the book. And that element of Seven's storyline is apparently carried over from earlier novels.

It probably wasn't the best one to start with, since that particular one is the middle chapter of a trilogy (I subsequently learned) so I don't know if I can recommend it in that regard, but I did really enjoy it and plan on getting Beyer's other novels at some point.

And the 'winner' of the final season goes to "REPRESSION".

This has been a very interesting game so far. A few unexpected results have occured...

Thank you all for voting. I shall be starting the final part shortly.
