The MOST Disliked Episode of TNG - Season Two...

I can't believe I'm saying this, but...saving "The Child." It had some massive flaws (mainly based in the fact that the crew pretty much just sat around and waited for Troi's "son" to tell them what was going on), but at least it wasn't based on ethnic stereotypes or some of the most unfunny attempts at "humor" ever presented in this quadrant. Also: kind of sweet that Deanna named the kid after her father.

Saving "Manhunt." I'm one of the vanishingly small contingent of fans who enjoy Lwaxana, I properly like this one. It's fun! Fish people! More Dixon Hill! And I looooooove Lwaxana's casual outing of the terrorist plot at the end.

To me, one of the funniest scenes of TNG is Picard continually telling the computer less violence, but it just compensates with another form of violence. And the last part of it, with Picard against the wall saying freeze program, I just laugh so hard.

I was actually going to save this episode because of that scene, but this season has quickly been finished.

The Outrageous Okona. I’ve loved it since I was a kid, and I’m not to sure who’s funnier Okona or Data, but it’s a romp!

About 17 hours... this has to be the fastest Like/Dislike season of a show this year.

"Up The Long Ladder" is the 'winner' of season 2.

I will begin season 3 shortly.

I rewatched "Up The Long Ladder" just recently. It blew my mind how many times Riker and his Irish Lass love interest talked erotically about her needing to wash her feet, like that was sexy foreplay. That's what gets them back to his place -- she needs a place to wash her feet!

As terrible as this episode is, I can also totally imagine the clueless writer/director mindset that leads you to "these Space Irish will be hilarious!"

What I don't get is how no one says "OK, this is like 6 times they talk seductively about foot washing, so let's maybe cut one or two of those..."

So, good season 2 winner! I'm glad "The Child" was saved, that's another guilty pleasure ep of mine, and it gives us Guinan!

I thought for sure it would be "Shades of Grey" as well. Still "Up the Long Ladder" is a terrible episode and very much deserving of it's "win".

By all that is dear and holy, "The Outrageous Okona" would have been the "winner" here.

It's only about this much better than "Code of Honor". And by "this much", I mean a random hair on one of my arms.
