The Most Disliked Episode of TNG - Season 3...

Farscape One

Admiral
Admiral
This is a twist on a game that is played here, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

I will get the ball rolling by saving "The Offspring". I know there are other episodes season that I might rate higher, but this one has always been a tear jerker for me. Data is my favorite character, and the reason I became a scifi fan. And not having a father myself, Data really endeared me even more with this episode. I was in complete agreement with Crusher when she said she found it hard to believe when Data said he was incapable of giving love. Time and time again, he has proven he is capable. And losing Lal at the end, and him bringing her memories into his mind because she enriched his life so greatly... I always shed multiple man tears at the end of this episode. Every time I see it. So Data, I save Lal for you, because you both enriched me.

Who Watches The Watchers, I just really like it. You can see every plot point coming a mile off but it's still a lot of fun and the scenes of whatever-her-name-was aboard the Enterprise learning about the Federation and seeing her planet from orbit are really striking.

Yesterday's Enterprise, the best use of Tasha in the entire series and an all around great episode.

Sarek - a very moving story, made all the better by the acting tour de force on display from both Patrick Stewart and Mark Lenard.

I always enjoyed The Vengeance Factor because it portrays Riker's romantic finesse and Picard's diplomatic finesse better than any other episode. Not the best 3rd season episode but the most unique in retrospect. The climax is certainly one of TNG's most memorable.

There's something really beautiful and moving about "Tin Man." And, good use of Troi! That's always a way to hook me, I so loved that character and she was so perpetually subjected to trash like "The Price."

I will save "Deja Q". I've always loved the episode. Great scenes with Q and... well, everyone. And Data getting the gift of laughter at the end... loved it.

I'll save Evolution, because of the nostalgic feelings i get, every time i watch this episode and because the nanites were an interesting concept.

I’ll save Sins of the Father. It kicked off the ongoing storyline about Worf’s relationship with and place in the Empire.

The Ensigns of Command is saved. The Data story was a tad ordinary, but the way Picard deals with the Sheliak is delicious.

I'll take The High Ground. It has the hands down best action sequence in the third season.

I love the way "The Most Toys" handles the echoes of Tasha's death in the shipboard plot, and Data in captivity provides satisfying drama as well.

Great ending, albeit controversial. Data's programming couldn't allow a man like Fajo to roam free.

Captain's Holiday. The captain gets lucky. And the scene where the woman is asking Picard about the Horta (or whatever it was) is a winner.

Allegiance is a fun take on the old abducted-by-aliens plot. Each captive was taken because they each have a different relationship towards authority. Hence a Captain, a cadet, an anarchist, and the snooty alien who defers to all authority. I enjoyed the scenes on the Enterprise where the fake Picard plays games with everyone.
