The most disliked episode of TNG - Part Seven

Liaisons
Force of Nature
Homeward
Journey's End
Bloodlines

I like "Firstborn" quite a bit, which is more than I can say for the remainder as well as a few episodes that have been saved.

Liaisons
Force of Nature
Homeward
Journey's End

I guess I'll save Bloodlines - it was good to see Bok again and to have the whole revenge on Picard storyline treated seriously, unlike in The Battle.

Well... because.... I dunno! Maybe... "Sub Rosa" was a Beverly-focused episode! Perhaps!

I know that, it was seeing it described as "good" that threw me off. :p

Liaisons
Force of Nature
Homeward

Journey's End has issues but isn't as bad as the others left, and I'm glad Wes got a decent send off.

Force of Nature

I'll save Liaisons as it's the first episode of any Trek I ever saw and Force of Nature is ridiculous.

Yet again not the result I'd have shot for personally but I think this one's more in-line with my belief's than the sixth season's loser, at least.

Well, for all the hate that episodes like Masks, Sub Rosa and Genesis get, at least they didn't have a scientist attempt to save her planet by bringing about its apocalypse. :p

Force of Nature

I'll save Liaisons as it's the first episode of any Trek I ever saw and Force of Nature is ridiculous.

To me, that goes to "Attached". When I first saw this, I was like "Well, dang! How did "Force of Nature" loose? It wasn't that good an episode but I would watch it again."

But then again to each their own...

I know that, it was seeing it described as "good" that threw me off. :p

Oh, so you didn't like "Sub Rosa"?

You know, I wasn't that crazy about "Journey's End" all because of the... Spanish tribe stuff... but it was good to see Wes again one more time before the series ended. Sucks it's the last time seeing him again until Star Trek Nemesis.

Wow, I thought for sure "Sub Rosa" was a goner.

"Force of Nature" wasn't that bad, and the premise of an intergalactic speed limit is interesting.

Anyone reading this thread would assume that season 7 was a very flat season. Even from the start people were saving episodes because they were OK or I didn't mind such and such or this and that were OK. There was very rarely any great enthusiasm.

Actually, I like the seventh season. I'm more than aware it has a larger share of iffier episodes than any season since the second by my reckoning, but the strong ones are among the best and the middling ones are certainly watchable. There's also a decrease in child stories and romance one-shots compared with the 'best' years and those are the two styles of Trek I typically find myself eye-rolling at the most. Granted, there are terrors like "Sub Rosa" (although as we've seen in this thread, even they have their fans!) but yeah.

I'd honestly watch "Genesis" thrice before commiting to just about any episode from the 'best' years involving Riker or Geordi supposedly falling in love with someone. So by that reckoning, yeah, season seven's alright.

I realized early on in this game that it's a good idea to save the average episodes we have a soft spot for before tackling the ones most fans consider great because there's a good chance someone else will take care of those for us.

Hmm. Have to say I'd choose Force of Nature, Homeward and Liasons over Masks and Sub Rosa. Though there is a lot more fluff in season seven, so it's like choosing between preferring being blind or deaf.

What I was trying to say was that at the start of most of the other seasons people were saving episodes because they were fantastic and in the end they were saving them because they were not as shitty as some other episode/s. In season 7 there was more of a feel that most of the episodes were OK some good and some bad but not the extremes of other years.

Overall I like season 7 and yes the decrease in child stories and Trekmance one-shots is a definite positive.

Yeah I know what you mean. Season 7 did produce some stinkers but not as many as seasons 1 and 2. The quality dipped somewhat but there was a consistency in the mediocrity. :D
