The MOST Disliked Episode of STAR TREK - Final Part...

Farscape One

Admiral
Admiral
Here we have the winners and runners up of each season:

Season One: MUDD'S WOMEN
Wild Card: CHARLIE X
Season Two: CATSPAW
Wild Card: THE APPLE
Season Three: THE MARK OF GIDEON
Wild Card: AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD

So now it is time for the final part.

*RULES*

Give what you consider to be the best/your most favorite episode ONE point, and briefly explain WHY. Be sure to copy and paste the list with your point added. When an episode reaches 4 points, it is eliminated. Then a NEW round begins (in this thread) with the numbers restored to 0. Vote ONCE per round. And enjoy! :bolian:

I will begin by giving a point to "THE APPLE". I have a soft spot for this episode... the numerous redshirt deaths always amused me. It really helped keep the stereotype up.

CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 0

I find "Charlie X" very entertaining, mainly because of Robert Walker Jr.'s performance. And Kirk trying to give advice to young Charlie is priceless.

THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 0

Fontana had a good ear for both an adolescent’s perplexity as well as the adults’ reactions. Walker was so convincing as a hapless misfit that his transformation into a monster was that much more frightening. It’s a compelling episode and it surprised me how poorly it rated in this game.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CHARLIE X - 2
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 0

Gideon scores a point just because I want those funny looking outfits they wear to become the next fashion statement in 2018.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CHARLIE X - 2
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 1

Catspaw! That's such a fun one! I'm a sucker for a holiday episode...

I like Mudd's Women a lot. I don't know what the problem is.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 1
CHARLIE X - 2
CATSPAW - 1
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 1

An easy vote for Charlie X, this is a really interesting concept with plenty of iconic moments. It really doesn't belong in this company.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 1
CHARLIE X - 3
CATSPAW - 1
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 1
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

My boy Charlie stands out against these others so one point for "Charlie X"

MUDD'S WOMEN - 1
CHARLIE X - 4
CATSPAW - 1
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 1
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

In that case, new round. Votes reset.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 0
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 0

The Apple at least has them discussing if they should interfere, and there's that priceless expression when Spock gets the chestful of thorns. :)

CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 0
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0[/QUOTE]

The funniest TOS script concept ever......Kirk is going to teach the Gideons how to be celibate. Gideon scores!

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 1
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

As absurd as it is there was always something I liked about Kirk walking around a fake Enterprise so another point for Gideon.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 2
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

I'll award a point to The Mark of Gideon as well, as it at least managed to have a genuinely tense and creepy atmosphere at several points, which is more than can be said for any of the others here.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
THE MARK OF GIDEON - 3
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

THE MARK OF GIDEON - 4

The Mark of Gideon really left an impression on me when I was a kid. I was absolutely fascinated by the empty, creepy Enterprise and the weird people that would sometimes be looking through the windows. And the Gideon leader calls Scotty an "excitable repair man."

Vote goes to Gideon.

EDIT: I hit my reply about a second after the poster above me apparently, so I had to edit and change the points to 4.

That's The Mark of Gideon out, then! I'll reset the scores and give the first point of this new round to The Apple, which is more dull and derivative than outright bad, as the other three stories are to me.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 1
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

Another vote for "The Apple." There's some fun stuff in here, including a lot of gratuitous red shirt deaths, Spock being a virtual punching bag for the planet's various defense mechanisms, and Kirk firing Scotty.

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0
CATSPAW - 0
THE APPLE - 2
AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD - 0

MUDD'S WOMEN - 0

THE APPLE - 3

Kirk’s self-recriminations about optional missions are interesting, as well as the debate about the Prime Directive and stagnant cultures.

Interesting, if this keeps up, it looks like the remaining 3 will represent the ultimate stinkers from each season.

Although, in fairness, I would have put Plato below Children....
