but I have to agree about Anthony Montgomery. He simply was not engaging or convincing enough to hold an episode.
I couldn't disagree more. What little we see of him, he holds his own, but they hardly wrote him into anything. Horizon was written BADLY, and it's a shame it's the only thing the producers ever tried to do with his character. Not the actors fault the writers/producers didn't know what to do with him. Now Kes...there's a character that the writers didn't know what to do with and an actress that just couldn't cut it the few time they gave her a chance. But hey, we can all have our own bests and worsts!
It's a shame that the writers didn't change the cast up a bit at the end of season two. Mayweather clearly wasn't working out for them, and he pretty much just said "Yes Captain," week after week. The concept of the boomers was a great idea, but poorly exevuted.

It's funny despite ENT third and fourth seasons being really good, I still find VOY easier to rewatch. It must be VOY having a more dynamic lead?
