The Most Disliked Episode of ENT, Season 2: 2021 Edition...

Did he make ANY mistakes over the course of the series? I don't remember any. He even managed to make nicey-nice with the Kreetasians.

Judgment is a fairly good homage to TUC. Plus it's a pleasure to see J.G. Hertzler on the show.

THE BREACH

We're scraping the bottom of the barrel here but there are always lesser evils and in this case, I believe it's "SHOCKWAVE, PART II", it's a disappointing sequel to part one but it still has its moments. The infamous gazelle speech isn't one of them though...

Ha, now "Horizon", that's a crazy save! :) That might be one of my 5 worst of the franchise. That episode just boggles my mind. In my view, Anthony Montgomery is the single worst actor in any cast of any Star Trek show ever, and I just do not understand how the writers came to give him, at the end of season 2, a showcase hour about something as heavy -- and as extraordinarily challenging to act! -- as the death of a parent. I would love to be a fly on the wall when this episode was being pitched, I cannot imagine how that "do you think he can do it?" conversation would have gone.

I guess I'll save "Stigma" next -- it is also basically bad, but I appreciate the intent on both stories. I like T'Pol's series arc overall, and this is an important piece of that.

The B story is pointless in execution, but the Denobulan family structure was the right kind of idea. This is the stupidest and most uninteresting way imaginable to explore it, but... I dunno, look at this terrible list! With most of them I can't even imagine how they MIGHT have been good.

I hate to say this, but I have to agree about Anthony Montgomery. He simply was not engaging or convincing enough to hold an episode. Definitely the weakest actor out of all the leads of all the shows. I actually expected "HORIZON" or one other one to win this season. (I won't say the other one yet for fear it may unduly influence the voting. I'll say which one I thought at the end.)

My next save is "THE BREACH". At least it was an attempt at some serious stuff with Phlox, and John Billingsley was always outstanding in the role.

I couldn't disagree more. What little we see of him, he holds his own, but they hardly wrote him into anything. Horizon was written BADLY, and it's a shame it's the only thing the producers ever tried to do with his character. Not the actors fault the writers/producers didn't know what to do with him. Now Kes...there's a character that the writers didn't know what to do with and an actress that just couldn't cut it the few time they gave her a chance. But hey, we can all have our own bests and worsts!

Boy, this is bad. What shall I choose? We have T'Pol relying on Archer to keep her grounded, Ie the raving lunatic of A Night In Sickbay. We have the aliens firing a few hundred bullets at Archer et al. and missing EVERY TIME! We have the stupid cliché boring princess saved by Trip and having sex with him because, why not? We have the most unlikely prison ship ever! And to top it off horny T'pol! (as if we had seen Spock trying to hump everything that moves on the ship during HIS Pon Farr!!) Oh boy!

Ok, let's choose "THE COMMUNICATOR". It's highly illogical and improbable but not as overall offensive as the rest.

THE SEVENTH
PRECIOUS CARGO
CANAMAR
BOUNTY

It's a shame that the writers didn't change the cast up a bit at the end of season two. Mayweather clearly wasn't working out for them, and he pretty much just said "Yes Captain," week after week. The concept of the boomers was a great idea, but poorly executed.

I was never a huge fan of T'Pol, but The Seventh was a decent look into her past.

Bad list here. I'll save "BOUNTY" because it does tie into the Archer arc this year with Duras and we see a female Vulcan go through Pon Farr.

(To be fair, we have no idea how intense that is for Vulcan women. We've only seen males. It could very well be that Vulcan females really are that sex driven during Pon Farr. Denobulan women are apparently much more open about sex than Denobulan men, so that precedent is set within the same show.)

PRECIOUS CARGO
CANAMAR

Saving "CANAMAR" because it has one quality that the other does not have, it's

not "PRECIOUS CARGO" the winner/loser of this contest.

We can definitely agree that he was badly written. I don't think anyone can actually dispute that.

But I definitely disagree with you on him being engaging. I just didn't feel what he was trying to do in the show. I don't feel like he emoted enough, nor did he bring a sense of... life to his character. I'm not sure what other term to use because it's hard to put into words. It's a shame because of all the leads, his character history had possibly the most potential.

Regarding Kes, I agree that she not written well, and she was a weak leak of the cast in terms of acting. She was not terrible, but not great, either. She did do very well in a couple spotlight episodes.

Not a bad thought. And given that Mayweather was the most capable member of the crew (anyone notice that his was the only brain the creepy station in Dead Stop bothered with?) it would have been easy enough for him to get promoted to another ship.

Precious Cargo, worst of a particularly bad season... so be it.

It's funny despite ENT third and fourth seasons being really good, I still find VOY easier to rewatch. It must be VOY having a more dynamic lead?

Possibly. Or, if you were a TNG and DS9 fan, you might enjoy VOY because it's more similar to those shows, costumes and sets and all.
