*RULES*

Give what you consider to be the best/your most favorite episode ONE point, and briefly explain WHY. Be sure to copy and paste the list with your point added. When an episode reaches 4 points, it is eliminated. Then a NEW round begins (in this thread) with the numbers restored to 0. Vote ONCE per round. And enjoy! :bolian:

I will start with "BODY PARTS". This episode belongs nowhere on this list, but is here only because it had the misfortune of being saved last in season 4, which was such a strong season. It was the closest thing to a perfect season for not just the STAR TREK franchise, but out of the hundreds of tv shows I have seen. (You have no idea how many genre shows I have seen... I own just under 700 dvd box sets spread across about 200 shows. Never mind all the other shows I have seen that have never been released on dvd.)

The B story was an extremely clever way to incorporate Nana Visitor's real life pregnancy... a much more ingenious solution than the cut angles and camera play they did for Gates McFadden or Roxann Dawson.

The A story was an excellent showcase of Quark's views and beliefs, brilliantly portrayed by Armin Shimerman. And Jeffrey Combs shows that a Ferengi can be quite a good villain if used properly. I love to hate Brunt, a credit to the awesomeness that is Jeffrey Combs. (He's one of the few actors from DS9 I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet. I would LOVE to pick his brain.)

Also, this episode truly cements Deep Space Nine as the last refuge of outcasts. Odo, Garak, Worf... and now Quark. This was another reason why DS9 is my favorite of the franchise, because having been somewhat of an outcast myself, I can identify with the characters. Definitely deserves saving from the bottom of the barrel.

I also vote for Body Parts. It's a decent Quark episode and Jeffrey Combs is a delight, as always, as Brunt. I'm not sure how it got here - but then season 4 only really has one bad episode, so the other choice was always going to be undeserving.

A side note...

I am truly curious to see how this will turn out, particularly since "PROFIT AND LACE" was saved during the Season 6 round. Most of the seasons have ended like I expected, though some of the reasons and order of saves has surprised me.

I have to say that I have truly been enjoying these contests, even more than I expected to, and I thank everyone for your votes and thoughts.

I'm also voting for Body Parts. I love Brunt, and this is a really good Quark episode.

“Babel”. I’ve always liked this Season 1 episode. It just went to show how the station was not like a normal Starfleet, and how the repair jobs were not routine like Scotty, LaForge and O’Brien would’ve seen on the Enterprise or another starbase.

I am truly curious to see how this will turn out, particularly since "PROFIT AND LACE" was saved during the Season 6 round.
It's interesting how the defending champions of both the "Least Disliked" and "Most Disliked" contests fell relatively early on in the Season 6 rounds of their respective contests. Guess it goes to show how wide a range of views fandom has, especially when it comes to this particular show.

Protractor bread farm with dunebuggy pills justice gauge solstice "PASTA".

Yards quantum giraffe box spells greedy, melon ball profit your upscale unicorn bandage roses conceal kilometer saffron chalice meat.

Linger fools pepper vex fluffy acquisition ogre, kin bald drums of easy ham on nap tribunal under wheel xenon latches zap juggles!

(I will use my save for this round on "BABEL".

Despite the flaws of this episode, you can feel the genuine affection and love Sisko has for his son.

Those scenes save this episode for me, because those scenes are one of the cornerstones of why this series is so excellent!)

I'll give a point to Prophet Motive. While the overall story's a little on the slight side, there's a lot of likeable individual moments here, such as Rom embezzling Zek, and a funny little jab at the Bible Code theories that were popular in the 90s.

I'm also sort of a fan of "Prophet Motive." I like how it brings the Prophets back for the first time since the pilot, in this unexpected way.

I'll give the point to The Reckoning. I don't think it's a bad episode, just kind of makes some other episodes in the emissary arc make less sense.

One vote for Playing God. The "threat plot" is weak as hell, but I really enjoy the character stuff. It's worth keeping just for Arjin meeting O'Brien and Kira. :D

I have a pretty good idea what the final 3 episodes will be. I will not say what they are so it doesn't alter the potential results.

I always enjoyed Chrysalis. It's as close as Trek ever came to a musical, which is probably a good thing, but I had fun with it. And I had a soft spot for the Jack Pack.

Also: THAT'S A STUPID QUESTION!
