Game The Most Disliked Episode/Movie Directed By A Trek Actor

I will save "Dawn", which is terrible but at least it's a Trip episode and he's pretty.

DS9 Season 6: "Profit And Lace" (Alexander Siddig)
ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (LeVar Burton)
ENT Season 1: "Cold Front" (Robert Duncan McNeill)
ENT Season 2: "Bounty" (Roxann Dawson)
ENT Season 3: "Extinction" (LeVar Burton)
ENT Season 3: "Chosen Realm" (Roxann Dawson)
DIS Season 1: "Despite Yourself"(Jonathan Frakes)
DIS Season 3: "There Is A Tide..."(Jonathan Frakes)

Trip being pretty excuses so much of his nonsense :luvlove:

I will save "Extinction" because it's always nice to see everyone go nuts for a bit? These are some grim choices....

DS9 Season 6: "Profit And Lace" (Alexander Siddig)
ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (LeVar Burton)
ENT Season 1: "Cold Front" (Robert Duncan McNeill)
ENT Season 2: "Bounty" (Roxann Dawson)
ENT Season 3: "Chosen Realm" (Roxann Dawson)
DIS Season 1: "Despite Yourself"(Jonathan Frakes)
DIS Season 3: "There Is A Tide..."(Jonathan Frakes)

I thought Despite Yourself was one of the better episodes of Discovery's first season - I'm surprised it was still here.

DS9 Season 6: "Profit And Lace" (Alexander Siddig)
ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (LeVar Burton)
ENT Season 1: "Cold Front" (Robert Duncan McNeill)
ENT Season 2: "Bounty" (Roxann Dawson)
ENT Season 3: "Chosen Realm" (Roxann Dawson)
DIS Season 3: "There Is A Tide..."(Jonathan Frakes)

Saving "CHOSEN REALM".

Highlights why religions can so easily be weaponized. The ending is a total ripoff of "LET THAT BE YOUR LAST BATTLEFIELD", but it gets the point across well.

DS9 Season 6: "Profit And Lace" (Alexander Siddig)
ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (LeVar Burton)
ENT Season 1: "Cold Front" (Robert Duncan McNeill)
ENT Season 2: "Bounty" (Roxann Dawson)
DIS Season 3: "There Is A Tide..."(Jonathan Frakes)

I'll save "There Is A Tide...", which is a weak link in a strong season, but as always with Disco at least it looks extravagantly gorgeous.

And that Osyraa/Vance scene is great. Though it's also frustrating, that clash of values should have been a full story that season. It's also a problem that Osyraa's proposal seems quite reasonable, and Vance seems like a dick, when they should be going for the reverse.

But, still -- interesting clash.

DS9 Season 6: "Profit And Lace" (Alexander Siddig)
ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (LeVar Burton)
ENT Season 2: "Bounty" (Roxann Dawson)

Damn, these are some BAD choices left for my final vote.

Two of them are actively bad, while the other was boring, which is probably the worst thing you can be in entertainment.

(sighs) I'll save the boring one... "FORTUNATE SON".

It at least gave us the rare view inside Boomer life on ENT.

DS9 Season 6: "Profit And Lace" (Alexander Siddig)
ENT Season 2: "Bounty" (Roxann Dawson)

I admit I had to look up both of those last two Enterprise episodes, only having seen them once. I agree that Fortunate Son is more average than bad. Bounty has the T'Pol Pon Farr stuff which isn't good, but at least it featured the Tellarites and showed some interesting things going on with Klingon relations. So I'll save Bounty.

Ultimate loser is Profit and Lace - as it should be.

Quadruple winner "Profit And Lace"! What a lineup of crowns: most disliked Ferengi ep, most disliked comedic light-hearted ep, most disliked 6th season ep, most disliked ep directed by an actor...

It's totally deserved, though I do always say I respect how valiantly the actors try to save it. But they are not miracle workers.

Well, we are almost done with the '22 - '23 cycle of these games -- only two more to go!

Next up: "The Most Disliked Penultimate Episode"
(Do I need to call it "Penultimate Episode Of The Season"? Just "Penultimate Episode" gets it, right?)
I'll have it up shortly...

After that, I'll be handing off to @BlueStuff who will be running his Least Disliked games starting in the TOS forum.

(And then after that @Farscape One will do his Most Disliked series-specific games, and then that'll probably have brought us to 2024 for the next iteration of these games in General Trek)

I for one am thrilled to play some Least Disliked games soon! The pandemic has made me into such a Pollyanna that I only feel like running the games where all the eliminations are about what we love, but I am excited to spend time as a player in the reverse version. :bolian::devil:

One does wonder how a show that was meant to advocate female equality could take a disgusting messy crap on it.
I'll tell you how: no female writers! :bolian:

I always say you can't find a better example of why diverse writing staffs are essential than this ep. A bunch of male writers deciding they wanted to do something feminist, and they open with a "hilarious" scene of a woman being forced to choose between fucking her boss and losing her job (and ends with an equally "hilarious" scene, revealing that nothing turns women on more than being forced to fuck the boss). What could be funnier, right?

Having women on the writing staff doesn't guarantee female characters or women in general coming off well.

"Sub Rosa" was not only done while Jeri Taylor was in charge of the writers that season, but she got a story credit fir that very episode.

Well, oo-mox is really more like simply jerking him off. But other than that, I agree completely.

It would have been far better to either let the Ferengi remain greedy, misogynistic, untrustable little trolls... or have them move toward equality in a way that made sense.

I like how DS9's tally at 10 now is almost half made up with Profit and Lace. I was also rooting for Sub Rosa, Let He Who is Without Sin, Bounty, Watcher and There Is A Tide.

Well, consider that (like the other VOY showrunners), JT actually thought "somebody gotta be duh ensign" was a good idea. Doesn't instill me with much confidence in her.

I like to see "Threshold" get the business. I mean... SALAMANDER BABIES?! What were they thinking?!
