SNW's Children of the Comet was a lovely slice of old-school Star Trek.

Uhura was great to watch, going from nervous about whether she even belonged in Starfleet, to confident when she realized she had something in common with the way technology communicated. Also, using music to talk was a very unique alien feel.

I love that Hemmer continues to channel McCoy.

[Summer Solstice]

"Workforce, Part II" - I like the sci-fi concept of this episode. I've seen the same idea in Stargate SG1 and Farscape and I think it just really works as an idea. It's interesting to see what is the same and what's different when someone doesn't have their memories. Seven did a lot to save the day, although without using any Borg tech for a change, Tom was really sweet and Janeway was very different to the point that I suspect the aliens changed her personality a lot, but it did give us an idea of what her relationship with Mark probably looked like. It's also made me think a lot about how this episode would play out if different characters were on the shuttle at the beginning.

It's like DIS's version of The Measure of a Man, with Zora, and I really enjoyed the role Zora played this season.

It's also a tale that is pretty dialogue-heavy, like the S|tar Trek of Yor. Burnham's passionate speech about approaching the 10-C with open arms was really well done. The way that it tracked Stamet's speech about Zora was so cool.

Looks like the new kids on the block will be fighting it out this round. I'm saving "Suddenly Human" A good moral dilemma, and I enjoyed the fact that it subverted my expectation - I expected the kid to go live with his human family, especially with the introduction of the cute granny admiral.

And with this, I'll bow out. Of what's left - I either haven't watched it or have nothing positive to say about it.

The Mirror Universe arc was the most interesting part of DIS's first season, so Vaulting Ambition it is for saving.

While the later twist of Lorca being evil was far too predictable, It was fun seeing Burnham interacting with MU Georgiou in this one.
