The Most Daring/Dangerous Thing You've Done

Probably white water rafting.

It hasn't happened yet, but a friend and I are considering buying an old rundown house, fixing it up, and flipping it for profit. It certainly has potential to be a big risk.

And now, I think it's time to pull the ol' DVD off the shelf and pop it into the player. :D

Passing a car on a two-lane road at 80 mph with oncoming traffic.

I NEVER want to do that again.

White water rafting is really fun. I should do that again sometime this summer. Haven't done any rivers that are really extreme; one I did had a brief section rated 3, but mostly I've done 1s and 2s.

White water kayaking is great too, although I definitely haven't gotten over 2s in that.

Let's see a few things that come to mind:
- went to Canada by myself when I was 19
- moved to Canada for two years when I was 22
- drove a car at 240km/h (150mph) on the highway
- drove my car at 210km/h (130mph) with the top down

I once walked from a bar in the Sunset District of San Francisco all the way to the BART train station, which was about a 2 mile walk, a little after midnight, with no idea where I was going besides my phone's GPS to guide me...while completely drunk. I barely made the last train of the night, and sobered up before getting to my car. It was a stupid thing to do, but I partially blame the friend I went to the bar with for sending me on my way to go home instead of going with me, all because he wanted to scam on some girls.

I've also driven a car just under 100 mph while racing. Also stupid, but also quite the adrenaline rush.

Jumped off a cliff into Lake Superior. My feet touched bottom and even though it was August the water was still freezing cold.

I spent a year in Doncaster. :p

Well, since I worked the late shift alone, and since I don't know where Doncaster is (is it like Lancaster?), and since it's outside the United States aka the known universe, then I'm still more risk prone and still win.

Pfft. Late shift alone in your safe little USA is kids play compared to doing Doncaster with other colleagues at any time of day.

My time in Doncaster made me a Man™. :bolian:

Brave of you. I jumped off a rock perhaps 12 feet up into water at the New River Gorge last year; even that was difficult to convince myself to do.

Climbed a couple of mountains, traversed the Vallee Blanche glacier from France into Italy and back. I was trying to get rid of my fear of heights. :rommie:

Truth be told I was shamed into it. I made the mistake of saying saying I would do it if another person did it thinking since she was the only one in the group not wearing a bathing suit I wouldn't have to worry. Well, she did it anyway then got out of the water and said "Now you need to do it with me."

So four of us held hands and jumped. I guess the answer to the question "If so-and-so jumped off a cliff would kimc do it too?" is "Yes". :borg:
