I hadn't planned on seeing this movie, thinking it was just a lame Fog rehash. So I get a call from a friend that goes on and on about it. So I rented it On Demand from cable.
The movie turned out to be pretty cool. The movie starts witha storm that knocks down some trees. One of the trees takes out Thomas Jane's window. The power is out and things are a mess all over. So Thomas Jane(The Punisher) goes to town to stock up on supplies and takes his son and neighbor with him while his wife stays at the house. Before they leave, they see a bizarre mist coming down the bay.
They drive to town and the store is pretty crowded with other people stocking up. Several recognizeable actors are in the store and a few that you might recognize. One of the actors was the guy that ran section 31 on DS9(Mr. Death on Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey). Kira from Chronicles of Riddick is a cashier. There is a soldier that is on BSG. If you are a Chuck Norris fan, you might recognize Silent Rage.
So while they are in the store this thick mist descends on the entire town. People are running from it and there are some screams. This older guy comes running in shouting that something in the fog grabbed some guy and dragged him off. Nothing is visible at first, but soon Punisher and some others see proof that something is out there and it isn't friendly. I won't tell you what it is, but it is cool.
