The Missing by Una McCormack (Future book- probable spoilers)

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

I think this is the same as the previously reported TNG "Home Again." We've seen novels get their titles changed from preparation to publication before, and given the more tightly woven tapestry of the Trek universe I can see it getting rebranded because it has elements of both and it being decided that one is a better fit.

If I'm wrong, though, then whoo hoo! Una McCormack's work in the past has been really good, and I'd love to be getting two novels from her in the same twelve month stretch. But I think I've read that Home Again got rebranded.

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

Any novel by Una McCormack is something I always look forward to getting and reading.Any new ds9 novels is good news.:) It will be interesting to see how she continues her story followup for The Fall miniseries.

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

Yes, Ms. McCormack has confirmed that this is the same title that was previously referred to as TNG: Home Again. So, great news that another DS9 novel is in the pipe, bad news that it appears there is only one title coming from Una. I've loved her work as well.

Mixed feelings reading this - excitement at a new DS9 novel, disappointment at one less TNG novel. Unless it features characters from both?
Looking forward to it either way.

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

Neat. Obviously DS9 elements were featured prominently in Star Trek: Destiny, Star Trek: Typhon Pact and Star Trek: The Fall but it's nice to have proper DS9-branded prose.

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

Did I hear David R. George III is writing a DS9 novel after One Constant Star?

At the very least, we know it will feature Dr. Beverly Crusher

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

David George mention son his facebook page he's going to be working on another Star Trek project he didn't what book series will be ds9 or something else.

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

^ It will, she is the CMO on DS9 while Bashir is out still and until Starfleet finds a suitable replacement or he is able to come back somehow. Personally excited, I like when Beverly gets to shine in the books.

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

I look forward to seeing Beverly Crusher getting alarger storyrole in a ds9 novel. Also I hope we'll get some more ds9 books.:techman:

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

Well Crusher had her story in Star Trek: The Fall: The Crimson Shadow
I'm hoping that it's more about the DS9 crew

Re: The Missing by Una McCormack

^ I am hoping that with this being printed under the DS9 title that it means DS9 will be coming back into the rotation as a series. There's a lot to figure out with Sisko on the Robinson and Bashir gone at the moment as well as Kira's future.
