The Mike O'Meara Show - In case you didn't know

So perhaps some of you remember the Don and Mike show. It was on the air for years and years.. Two guys, and a few others, based out of Maryland.

Kind of like shock jocks, but mostly just BSin' about anything and everything. They were heard on about 60 stations across the country

Don retired a couple of years ago, but Mike carried on, starting his own show - The Mike O'Meara show, based out of WJFK...

Well, WJFK switched formats and Mike and his crew lost their jobs.

But now, the Mike O'meara Show has resurfaced on the web, with daily podcasts, which are quickly becoming one of the most downloaded each day.

Don and Mike were carried on a local station here in the Seattle area a few years back. I especially liked one episode where they spent the better part of three hours bitching abou tthe chairs in the studio and planning how they were going to steal better chairs from elsewhere in the building. I don't think they had planned to spend the whole show on the topic, it just sort of happened. It was oddly engaging.

That's the kind of thing I loved about the show. While it was topical with the day's events, it was so random and they could make mundane stuff sound interesting.

Mike's new show is like that, but in a nicer way. Don was a bit too gruff for my liking once in a while.

They got kicked off the air for a while here in Albuquerque, after they made fun of some dinky Texas town along the border that had decided to make Spanish its official language.
