The Menagerie I and II...

Well, if it does prove that Talosian powers reach across lightyears ...
Then why the necessity of bringing Pike all the why to Talo Four? Pike could have sat in his hospital room at the Starbase and lived in his little Nexus style fantasy realm with the people around him none the wiser.

Plus IIRC, Vina said that the Talosians had difficulty repairing their own machines. Would they have been capable of maintaining Pike's life support chair? Or of providing for Pike's separate medical needs?

:)

...And Shatner showing just how subtle HE can be when he wants at the end, the look of joy.....amazement..even envy, perhaps 'watching' the suddenly young healthy Pike with his young healthy Vina, as the Keeper asks him the ultimate question. That question having a hundred times more meaning than they in The Cage. Still can give me chills, even after 40 years of watching it.

Question? The Keeper poses no question, just a statement: "Captain Pike has an illusion, and you have reality. May you find your way as pleasant."

I think a question is raised by that statement. Namely, can illusion be just as good as reality? Or, maybe is reality illusory? Something deep like that. ;)

KIRK: Now, what the devil does that mean?
KEEPER: How should I know? Am I a philosopher?
