The Matrix Theories

After becoming the One, Neo never entirely breaks his connection to the Matrix.

He wirelessly communicates to the Sentinels through the Matrix to simply shut down. Similarly, his sight regarding machines is due to him being connected to the Matrix that basically transmits his position relative to the machines. By interpreting the code, he develops a limited concept of sight.

and...

Yes, he "touched the Source" ie was connected to the Machine Maneframe while in the Architects chamber, located there.

He was the first human to ever leave it again the way he did, it had unintended consequences as his mind was further removed from his body to be uploaded to it.

On being replaced to his body, he retained...for the lack of a better term, a wifi connection to the Source, and anything in it in his location. Notice he only ever shows this ability near a Hovercraft (the Hammer was still close by when the Nezzy went up, Logos out in the no mans land) or the Machine city itself, near broadcasting equipment.

My point is that an organic human brain has no wireless capacity whatsoever. Neo can't communicate with ANYTHING wirelessly. If the movies had established that there were some telepathic people, then I could buy it, but there's NOTHING in the movies to indicate that anyone could use their mind to affect other things without the use of technology. Given that Neo had no access to such technology at the time, his ability to stop the sentinels makes no sense.

He still had the implants. We don't know what they all can and cannot do. There may have been some connection with them to the matrix.
Also, I have my own theory on what the whole thing was really about. It all comes down to the dangerous game the Oracle played and is referred to by the Architect when he noted the difference between this "ONE" and the previous "ONEs."

Okay, I get that he touched the source so theoretically, when he waves his hand, the Neo in all of the machines stop them but how is he able to "see" the Matrix when his eyes were burned? If they built wireless receivers in humans, why not just knock them all out? That's why I preferred my previously posted theory. It would have been Inception before it existed.

He is not really "seeing". What we see on screen is the visual interpretation of what he is experiencing. Similar to how Daredevil's vision was represented in that movie.

I don't think the machines realized this wireless receiver existed prior to Neo. Or maybe it didn't--maybe he unconsciously reprogrammed his own internal hardware.

No, there are no others. Neo is the ONE. Nobody else can see the code like he can, and no one else touched the source.

That is the in story reason. If you are looking for a broader reason, its Science FICTION and as a viewer you simply need to accept the established rules unless there is a gaping plothole.

That doesn't magically install wireless functionality in his brain.

Humans are grown in the fields, they're altered while gestating to be implanted with a large array of cybernetic implants we're not shown or told the full extent of.

One we do see and is rather important is a large cranial alteration which among other things is where the 'jack' is inserted for connection.

Neo is different to other humans in some way that makes him The One, and touching the Source could alter all kinds of things about his brain long on being returned to his body. But couple that with the cybernetics, the connection port, who knows.

Unless the connection is wireless for everyone, Neo will not have the wireless radio in his head. And we see quite clearly that no one has a wireless connection at any time when they are in the matrix. Everyone has the equivalent of a USB port. And a USB port does not function wirelessly.

Like I said, the ports that everyone has can not function wirelessly. If they did, we wouldn't see them having a physical connection. And even the Machines use a physical connection when Neo goes to the machine city. If Neo could interface with them wirelessly, wouldn't they use it then?

Also, I have my own theory on what the whole thing was really about. It all comes down to the dangerous game the Oracle played and is referred to by the Architect when he noted the difference between this "ONE" and the previous "ONEs."

To me, that's like when you are playing a game and send your armies against your enemy several times. You might need to wait until you get a piece with the right abilities and upgrades etc in order to win. To me, it just supports my idea that it's a game between the Oracle and the Architect.

But we are still dealing with a living human getting what are essentially super powers. The only time when anyone was shown to have superpowers with any explanation is when they are in the Matrix, and that was explained by saying that they are able to learn to bend the rules of the matrix. This can not work at all in the real world. So if Neo suddenly gets super powers in the real world, either it is for the same reason that he has them in the matrix (in which case, the real world is just another simulation), or it's just magic, which cheapens the story.

^^^ Hey, it's a Science Fiction movie. You can make up whatever interpretation you want, but within the "rules" of the universe there have been several valid theories brought up already.

You can have your own interpretation and that's cool. But you're not going to convince others of it by repeating it. That was the point in bringing up my own interpretation in an earlier post. Nobody else shares it but that's fine with me. I haven't been bothered to research deeply enough to write a true essay on the subject, but why don't you write a full essay and submit it somewhere?

As others said, Neo's body is implanted with interface plugs for the Matrix. In a normal person this requires a "hardline" needle insertion to interface, but Neo can do it wirelessly the way Machines do it. Just the way a Sentinel communicates with the Deus Ex Machina.

Here's one rationalization: the Oracle (or some other deus ex machina bit of coded personality) fiddled with some of the robot workers to make sure Neo's implants contained a transmitter. These adjustments were made long before Neo left the Matrix.

Hey, I'm not trying to get peoplke to agree with me, but I do want a discussion about the different theories we all have.

I don't think that liquid Neo fell in when he was dumped from the Matrix was the same toxic waste that spilled on Murdock nor do I think Neo has telekinesis but in sci-fi, anythings possible. Snaploud's theory covers it the best, the Oracle simply placed the receiver in his head while he was still in the matrix, though I'd still rather see Inception-Matrix. Neo (and maybe Trinity) make it to the next level where he discovers the real real world is too ruined to repair. Throw in some confrontation between Zion and the cooperating machines, a cascade failure of the innermost Matrix due to bad-Smith's tamperings (imagine those tippy Inception, room spinning scenes), and the movie would ultimately ends with Neo convincing Zion (which he explains was created for those who desired a more real conflict, reliving the fall of the last city, which really happened in the real real world) to help undarken the real real world's sky (which also happened).

????
This is not what I said.

I have always found this Video, from the Matrix movies that features the scenes of the Oracle, the Architect and the Merovingian talking about the Matrix, interesting.

If you ask me, the Oracle even though she was a protagonist, was very indirect in explaining her reasons for helping Neo. The Architect, being an Antagonist, was more direct and clearer in explaining to Neo for his existence. The Merovingian was correct to a certain degree, about causality affecting us all. Free will and choice being limited.

Much like Angela Mitchell of William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy, an acknowledged influence on the series ( made particularly obvious by the appearance of a track called "Mona Lisa Overdrive" in the Reloaded soundtrack ).

The original "Matrix" ;-)

Though technically the original Matrix would be the Matrix from the Doctor Who episode The Deadly Assassin.
