It took me years before I realized that the annoyingly shrill niece from Black Adders Christmas Carol was secretly Nicola Bryant.
My idea for the Master returning:
After he defeats Lord President Rassilon the drumming in his head finally ceases, he cancels the Final Sanction and leads the surviving Time Lords to victory, with all of the Time War-era Daleks finally destroyed, with Gallifrey saved. And the Master - now Lord President - pilots planet Gallifrey out of the Time Lock and back into conventional time-space again. The Master, played by an older John Simm, is a wise and benign leader.

At work on Monday, some of my coworkers and I were discussing "The Impossible Astronaut."
Someone suggested, "I bet it was the Master inside the spacesuit! He killed the Doctor!"
I have to admit, for an idea with absolutely no evidence behind it, I kinda liked it.
I re-watched it and it was obvious that
The Doctor instructed the Astronaut to shoot him and then he tensed for it.
