There's another possibility that I'll admit is only my own speculation. There could be a medical problem that causes this behavior.

But yeah, you're right. It could possibly explain why she's put on a completely different public face compared to the one at her workplace. And if that's the case, here's hoping she can find some help.Anything she accomplished as an astronaut doesn't convince me I should admire her as a Governor General. Spending years developing your own career doesn't make a good leader.
Oh, of course. I don't think anyone is arguing that it would automatically make them a good leader. It's just such a shame that someone with those qualities had to have a destructive behavior. Talk about someone who's needed to get back down to earth. I don't know if she'll be able to get a high profile job again. At least we know she's definitely not a people-person.
