The Maple Leaf Lounge

Can't believe I beat @Laura Cynthia Chambers to this one!

Frozen juice from concentrate is returning to Canadian store shelves:

Orange juice seems to be conspicuously absent in the list of flavours, though.

I didn't buy the stuff, so this doesn't really impact me, but I thought some others had mentioned they did, so hopefully this is good news for you! :)

but loblaws is seeing quiet on where it's actually coming from so there's real help there for the workers that lost their jobs when the production was wound down.

Then again I will admit to not being a consumer but that's more for medical reasons.

I'm sure that Hoekstra's doing exactly what his boss wants.

I suppose better to leave him where we can watch him. Carefully.

By all estimations, he'll just continue til he self-destructs. He'd yell at clouds if Trump told him to.

You'd be better off without those juices anyway since those are loaded with sugar.

That’s the exact reason I don’t drink them.

Good man. I think it's easy for people to think fruit juices are healthy (which is what the industry wants you to think) when in fact they are likely just as bad as anything else due to all the added sugar.

Have to admit it's move having been diabetic for 16 years.

Saw this pop up on my feed a few days after the Littlest Hobo reboot was announced. Coincidence? I think it's likely they'll be using this as the official version of theme for the reboot given that it's labeled as an official video. Or maybe it's something they did for fun after hearing the announcement. Either way, can't get more Canadian than this.

I don't think their voices quite work for this song though. Something feels like it's missing. Personally, I'd love to see someone like Julian Taylor who's a rising up and comer Canadian musician.

I'm going to be honest, and admit I didn't know Tom Green a) could sing and b) was Canadian. (Assuming that's the actor; I can't really tell from the video.) But I personally thought his voice fit the song just fine. (As mentioned before, though, I have no nostalgic attachment to the show or the song.) Stephen Page's voice, however, is too distinctive, and you can't really listen to it without thinking "that's Stephen Page", so probably not the best fit.

Maybe this version would be more to your liking?

Tom Green is from Ottawa, so yes he's Canadian. Definitely the actor as he moved to Hollywood, but recently as of a year or two, he's moved back to Canada and now lives on a farm. In his early career, he was mostly into grossout humour, something I wasn't into. He's really mellowed out some since moving back to Canada though. I think when he was doing The Tom Green Show early in his career, he was still living in Canada.

Admittedly, I didn't know he could sing either. I guess I just felt his voice in this was a bit muted, although that could just be the mix. I kind of agree about Steven Page in that his voice is stronger, and it made for a strange pairing.
