That's precisely why I wasn't surprised by the tower and eye. It's more iconic because it had far more screen time and the casual viewer is going to think of it before Sauron's corporeal form that only appeared in the prologue.
I have a shot of me like that, too! From Zack Snyder's Vero account.

I saw it this morning and I loved it. I got a big kick out of just how many references there were to the other versions of the character. I was pretty impressed that they even included the old serials, that was one I wasn't expecting.
It had a pretty fun story to it, that actually got a lot deeper into Batman's issues than I would have expected.
They did a really good job of finding the humor in the characters without necessarily making fun of them.
It was pretty surprising to see the non-Batman/DC villains play such a big role, I was expecting them to be just quick cameos.
I loved the pew-pew gun sounds.
The cast was great, and I love that they actually changed the character's ethnicity to reflect their actors, like making the Gordons Hispanic, and Catwoman and Two-Face black. We even got a female Clayface, which is something that I don't think we've ever gotten anywhere before.
An A+ from me.
