The Legend of Zelda Live-Action Movie

This is gonna be awful. Zelda: Breath of the Wild was an amazing game, but the story was no the strongest point at all.
Just make a feature length version of this, with Zelda from Echoes of Wisdom completely divorced from consequences

Years ago, when I was a little kid, I didn't play any games other than Pro Evolution Soccer, Football Manager, and GTA 3. So, I'm not familiar with the Zelda series. I don't know much about the games, especially the plot. But since Nintendo and Sony are making the movie together, there's a chance it'll be good.

Over all the quality of the costumes and make up and stuff seem good, but there's nothing there that really screams Zelda. If I didn't know better, I would have thought maybe they were new cast members from The Rings of Power, or something like that.

It's a film adaptation of the latest Zelda game released for Switch. The costumes and other elements are likely the same as in "that" game. At least the outfits on the game posters are the same as in the movie.

Sure, but that doesn't change the fact that these pictures of very generic.
And I was under the impression that it was taking inspiration from Breath of the Wild, not Echoes of Wisdom?

I think the best tactic would be to make it based on Breath of the Wild, which is one of the more popular recent games in the franchise, and if successful, make a sequel based on Windwaker or Ocarina of Time.

If this one doesn't at least some inspiration from Ocarina of Time, I would not be surprised if a later one did. That is pretty much the iconic Zelda game for a lot of people, so I can't imagine they wouldn't do something related to it at some point.

Sure, but since Ocarina of Time involves time travel of some sort, usually it's best to set the groundwork and build the setting for viewers not familiar with it. From then on, with possible sequels you up the stakes. Otherwise, you give viewers a mistaken impression on the series. Too many movies up the stakes too soon without building the setting and introducing the world. If and when a sequel comes around, the viewers will find more familiarity with the setting which would make the time-travel all that more impactful.

That's a fair point, I'm not familiar with Breath of the Wild, but it sounds like it has a more straight forward story, which could be a good place to start.

Its not possible, narratively, for there to be a sequel that adapts any game other than Tears of the Kingdom unless you're going the Anthology route, and that would just be confusing to general audiences.

It just dawned on me that it other than other than The Last of Us most of the game adaptations we've been getting lately have been original stories, so I'd say there's probably a pretty good chance they'll go that route for this too.
And honestly with these kind of adaptations that is my preference, since it gives the creators a lot more freedom, and they're at least a little less likely to piss off the fans by screwing up a direct adaptation of one of their favorite games.

And said adaptations have almost universally been terrible (Halo is the only exception).

I'd have to disagree about the Sonic movies, the animated Mario movies, Fallout, and the Uncharted movie which all ranged from OK to fantastic, but none of which were terrible. I think most of the Secret Level episodes had a fairly positive reaction too, but I haven't seen them. I did watch the first couple episodes of Halo and thought it was pretty good.
One advantage to an original story is will give them a chance to pick choose elements from different games, instead of being limited to only stuff from one specific game.

In adapting Breath of the Wild, they can still reference other games because it 'reunified' the 3 branches of the TLoZ Timeline.

I think if they're smart about it, they'll leave out narrative dependencies. Remember these are not the games, and one wouldn't want to assume that everyone would be clued in. The game's chronologies are massively confusing anyway, so a fresh start would likely create a chronology of its own if there are any sequels. Otherwise, you'll get a situation where the writers feel boxed in from the start and that won't be a good thing. The number one thing you want to be doing with something like this is make it as inviting for newcomers as possible, only then can you start filling it in with details. The first movie should primarily be about Link, Zelda, and Ganon. As for what's next, that should be up to them to decide.

If they do Majora's Mask I wanna find out more about the toilet guy. Buddy why are you all the way inside the toilet, that's not how any of this works.
