The Legend of Korra - Book Two: Spirits

My son and I just finished the origin story episodes.

We both thought they were terrific. They did a good job of bringing everything together, and tying back to the present.

Looking forward to the rest.

:techman:

Am I the only one that now wants to hear the story of the second Avatar? In a way I find that more interesting because it's the first re-incarnation. There would be no system set-up to identify and train the Avatar. He or she would have had to have discovered their true nature on their own, retrain in all the elements and convince the world that they are Wan reborn. This is probably the same incarnation that set up the temples and the statues.

Actually, now that I think about it, why do those statues glow? Are they tied to Raava somehow, or is it the site those temples are built on that has the connection?

youre a genius.

I'd love to hear more about Wan and his direct successor. Obviously he or she will be an airbender.

Dumb as it sounds, that actually didn't occur to me! What do you think the odds are than this is the person that founded the Southern Air Temple? Maybe even carved that wooden sculpture of Wan themselves? The style is drastically different from all the others.

Now that I know it's not on tonight, I wonder if that might have been part of the reason for the back to back airings.

Sincerely,

Bill

I'm actually glad it's not on because it means I can watch the Dracula premier with no conflict.

Last season aired on Saturday mornings, this season airs on Friday nights, hopefully that accounts for the depressed ratings.

It doesn't seem like they care about Korra anymore. The target age demographic has gone too high up and they are just airing it now because they have a contract with Bryke for another two books.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it relegated to NickToons Network by next book.

^Actually the reason they moved it to 8:30 was to try to improve its ratings after the 7 PM airings dropped off. And the show is still performing very well on their website and on iTunes. I gather that Nick still believes in the show, at least for now. Maybe they should move it back to Saturday mornings, though.

I'm OK with that! I get that channel for some reason!
