Generations is out because the entire plot falls apart when you think about it for 10 seconds, Picard didn't need Kirk, he just needed a better plan. You can go anywhere at any point in time and you pick going back to a few minutes before you lost where your enemy had every advantage? It makes no sense. Go back a week, call your brother and warn him of the fire, wait for Soran to show up, throw him in a cell, then lean back, order "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot!" and wait for the classical music concert to start.
You don't even have to worry about avoiding your past self because you take his place as we saw on the pkanet when Nexus Picard didn't run into his past self after returning.
Kirk could have been like "Surprise, I got out just in time!" walking onto the Enterprise-B bridge.

I don't know if movies count, but my favorite time travel story is the hearty, robust First Contact.

As far as TV goes, I thought DS9's "Trials and Tribbulations" was the most adorable time travel story.

 

There is one thing I do hate more than the Temporal Cold War. The two Abrams directed movies. JJVerse STAR TREK goes... I'm surprised it's lasted this long, to be honest.

(I will give this one credit for one thing... it DID help bring in a new generation of fans who went back to the rest of the franchise and we got new fans that way.)

Death Wish, because it contradicts True Q where we learned the continuum had executed Amanda's parents, the continuum had also made Q mortal before, so the sudden "He must remain immoeral and be imprisoned for enernity stance didn't make a lot of sense. It also started demystifying the Q, visiting the continuum was a mistake and Q implying their powers are just super advanced technology an even bigger mistake.

“What’s Past Is Prologue” has been sucked into the temporal abyss. While it's an exciting episode for other reasons, the time travel part might be the most transparent moment of the writers shamelessly declaring "We're cheating, but it's okay, because we've got to conclude the story soon" that I can think of off the top of my head.

DS9's "Past Tense" is a great story, but it's time travel explanation is a little weak. Especially the way Kira and O'Brien can beam to different times and back searching for Sisko & crew.
I'd have borrowed from TOS: Upon noticing a recently discovered historical database has a clear pic of Sisko on Gabriel Bell's entry, Starfleet authorizes him to use the Guardian of Forever to find out what happened. Proceed with story.

 

Tapestry, because I really don't like Picard's attitude when he realizes his awful fate of "just" being a Lieutenant and preferring death over it.

For myself, The Year from Hell part one - Too weak a premise for me.

Why was "All good Things" not on the list ? Granted a large part if not all of it was a Q illusion to test Picard but I did enjoy having Q bring Picard to Earths past.

 

TNG, Season 5: “Cause And Effect”: Because it doesn't make sense. Like why couldn't Data do both? Why couldn't he use the tractor beam AND open the door of the main shuttlebay? And how can one the ships be in a loop for a few hours and the other be in that same loop for a hundred years? This is the kind of bullshit that I have a hard time to swallow. I mean if it's SCI. fi, it should at the very least sound like Sci. not like major bullcrap.
