While it is an excellent episode, "Yesterday's Enterprise" is gone because the romance is more a side plot than anything else. Still belongs on the list, but the romances on the other episodes are more the primary story.

I'm either always too tired to correctly identify episodes I want to eliminate, or too tired to be quick enough with my choices. When does being a grown-up get more straightforward?

I'll eliminate This Side of Paradise. I remember thinking Spock romance episodes. I just like the other stories/relationships more.

Strange as it feels to eliminate DS9 while VOY eps are still on the board, I do think "Looking For Par'Mach In All The Wrong Places" is the least emotionally affecting of these.

I agree with you, Sakonna. But that episode's subplot of Kira/O'Brien never felt right to me, despite the circumstances being legitimate in how it came about. And it feels... wrong, DS9 eliminated before VOYAGER.

I take out "Lessons". Good episode, and having Picard play that song again brings out a single man tear, but the other episodes are just better overall.

Removing Half a Life. It's a really strong episode, HOWEVER, the romance doesn't involve a main character.

I was literally in the middle of writing a post to eliminate "Half a Life," and for the exact reason @Prax chose, when the above post appeared. Ninja'd! Reluctantly, I will eliminate "Someone to Watch Over Me" instead. If the ROTW is Seven/Chapman, it lacks enough emotional engagement to qualify for ROTW status. If it's Seven/EMH, though, I think it actually exceeds ROTW, as Doc's unrequited love for Seven continues to color his interactions with her for the remainder of the series.

Getting down to our last here. I know what would be #1 for me, but eliminating the next one is a tough call. I'm going to go with Lifesigns though, simply because it had no impact beyond that episode for The Doctor, while The Emissary continued to have repercussions for Worf through the remainder of his character arc.
